Why is everyone talking about Avenged Sevenfold? They're a solid band but you cannot compare them to Between The Buried And Me. It's like comparing Johann Sebastian Bach to Danny Elfman.
@ziggmyster55 I have to agree with you there. I imagine these two bands like brothers, BTBAM being the more serious angry older brother and PTH being the younger crazy energetic/playful one.
I like A7X, I think they are talented musicians, escpecially in songs like sidewinder and a little piece of heeaven, I don't understand why people are always saying they are a comercial band, because I think they are very talented, I don't compare them to prog bands like Opeth BtBam, King Crimson, Jethro Tull, Porcupine Tree, or haken, and Dream Theater... but they are good musicians...
@ihateusernamemaking not entirely sure, but I think that was a shoutout to Horse the Band. or maybe they just wanted a horse on their cd. I like to think it's the former.
@ihateusernamemaking you'll have to find out for yourself...might I suggest "big business" or "I think we are both suffering from the same crushing metaphysical crisis"
I really dislike the fact that these days everybody downloads music. A CD doesn´t exactly cost much and buying it supports the band, so that they can make more music.

@Bulbapuck A cd in my hands give me no satisfaction. It gives me clutter. Something to stick in the closet and never look at again. Besides you can pay for mp3s, or buy merch.
@Bulbapuck well if you download the album then you have more money to buy all of there shirts and to have them play for your birthday or wedding if they are up for it xD
@Bulbapuck Problem though is that it's hard to find metal band's that aren't extremely main stream in music stores, besides maybe HMV. Support bands like these anyway you can though, too much talent to not be recognized and rewarded.
That instrumental part sounds like a fucking surf tune, oh god I almost cry with happiness when I hear it. Or I get up and act like I'm on a surf board with my arms out trying to balance
Go to 3:17 the lyrics are backwords, I reversed that section so I could here what he's saying and I uploaded it to my channel, so just click on my name if you want to see it.
During the soft child/adult response section of this song, Tommy perfectly nails that Nurturing maternal voice, asking the child to do things. It's creepy even.
Hey anyone whos interested should check out my band bispora. weve got a facebook and ive got our newly recorded ep the cycle on my channel along with a free download link. Feel free to leave any feedback.
Most powerful message ever.. You guys do realize they are speaking the truth through poetry right? Disease, Injury, Madness is the next chapter in the human experience. "This is what's supposed to happen, A predetermined destiny put in motion by my stronger power." You must listen to Fossil Genera to find out just who's in charge.
i will never tire of brilliant music such as this. I feel bad for those that cannot appreciate the real beauty (or at least can be) that is metal. Thank you BTBAM.
@xtremevillain : Yea there sort of is a problem. These guys don't make enough money. Saw them in pgh a few days ago (which was spec-fucking-tacular). Venue held 600. Tix were $20 a pop. So the drop was apx $22,000. Now subtract what they pay the opening acts (2 of them), ticketfly charges, equipment, managers, agents fees, record co fees, the club rake, income and any other tax etc. Now divided that by 5 band members. Each one of those guys probably pocketed $900 from that mind-blowing show.
@rmed30 : When my sister got married she paid a 4 person wedding bad 12K to play at her wedding. Unlike BTBAM they didn't have to pay for any of that overhead and pocketed most of the cash. What a shitty world we live in when a bunch of no talent assholes makes more money to play a wedding gig than top notch talent like these guys. When I get married I'm going to book BTBAM! It will be cheaper and infinitely sweeter!
@rmed30 couldnt agree with you more. This band is a diamond in the rough and definetly deserve more in terms of monetary profit, even though they dont do it for the money.
@NoAppend Yeah, I see what you're saying. I'm not saying it's wrong to buy the music or anything like that. It's just that a kid like me doesn't have nearly enough money to buy all his music. Therefore I just buy merch from bands that I really like, and I feel like I do my part in that way. Plus, I promote the band by wearing their stuff, lol
@NoAppend i completely agree :) and same here about A7X, they used to be amazing! now they play mostly to sell like you said. BTBAM is just INCREDIBLE.
@MegaKlaxons because people don't have any fucking appreciation for real talented, music anymore. all people want is fucking dance beat and four chords. it's really sad to be honest. the most talented musicians are pushed aside for pop stars who have no fucking talent at all... that's why we gotta keep supporting METAL! >:D
@groovymoustach that's all people have ever wanted. People weren't listening to avante garde, challenging music in 1960... except for people who liked avante garde, challenging music.
@groovymoustach Not just METAL! mean I agree with you 100% but there are so many talented people out there in music,,but get overshadow by all that pop bullshit man,,its fucking horrible.
@groovymoustach exactly man,,I was listen to some old school rap(not even a fan) but they actually talked about problems in the community and now they just CREATE problem in the communty,,dont get me started on lady GAGA or other bullshit.
@jakeen229 i hear you man. i mean i love hip hop and shit. like biggie, eazy e, tyler the creator and stuff like that, and they actually talk about things instead of just partying like it's really sad how that's all people listen to
@groovymoustach not to repeat you, but i hear you. i do love hip hop, rap, pop, country, and everything in between. when i'm out with people and partying and what not, the pop music comes on. but deep down inside me, anything and everything in the progressive genre is pure greatness and talent and hardly anything these days can stand next to it
@ColinFox36 of course it's pop for partying, but whatever man you know? it's fun to dance to. but it's when that's all people listen to and it's considered "talent", that's when it's like fuck off this sucks.i completely agree with you
@groovymoustach Yeah, and the few talented pop artists like Lady Gaga immediately metamorphosize into blobs of mania and protoplasm. Case and point, the video to Bad Romance.
I used to think BTBAM were progressive and I was once a huge fan, but the more I listened, the more I noticed how contrived and forced their sound is, and how their "progressiveness" amounts to little more than meaningless, erratic genre changes and flowery leads with little to no backing merit. I completly despise the band now.
@JohnForce117 Despise is a little harsh for just simply not having the direction you want. I can understand if you don't like them, I however really like the shifts in genre and style. Music's all about what means something to you. And their music means something to me. I however, could not listen to just them. I like having a diverse style and I would hope that you do too.
its a kid mix of everything that they like, there is some jazz fusion blue grass a lot things that make this band special, not only chug chug blast and breakdown all the time
I Honestly don't see whats so special about this band.. im trying to like them because if ABR says they're awesome it must be true lol, but to me it just sounds like a heavier version of He Is Legend, im not questioning the bands talent though
ABR is more of a -core band, and while you could put both them and BtBAM under the genre "metal", BtBAM is also progressive, and if you don't have an innate liking for progressive music, then you won't like bands like this or dream theater. I would venture to say BtBAM is more similar to Rush than they are to ABR
@Kratossaysno alright i see what your saying, one thing i do love about this band though is its diversity and originality, you don't see that much these days, i would enjoy it more if they had a different vocalist, but that's just me
@theath1337 Definitely some classy playing! Hell form 7:07 to 9:30 is just some really clean classy jazz play.....in the middle of a perfect metal piece!
I hate to say it, but I'm pretty sure the guys in BTBAM have a pretty good idea of 1. how the world works these days, 2. who's running it behind the scenes, and 3. what's going to happen in general in the coming years.
The WHOLE album is about a new world order. Destruction of the present order is completed in "Fossil Genera" by the "Night Owls." The result of this coming destruction is "Swim to the Moon." Listen to the beginning of the song, they are BUILDING something. "Disease, Injury,
Madness" is the next chapter in our story. Right now, we are in "Obfuscation," which they released, IMO, to show what stage of this unfolding story we are in. "Obfuscation" is the perfect word to describe the sly way in which the truth is being hidden from us by the powers that gold sway over our world, in entertainment, politics, and most importantly, the vast military-industrial complex. What the American public doesn't know, is what makes them the American public.
The cover is gas invading a suburb. Disease, Injury, Madness is coming, my friends. In the backwards-words of BTBAM in this song.. "you will die with the rest of the nonbelievers."
Never really listened to these dudes much before, but I've heard a lot of bitching about how disappointing this album was. This song sounds pretty sexy to me.
for those who dont like btbam bcuz screaming need to hear 6:35-10:20

Collide..Control.. Collapse.
Do you know who the "night owls" really are?
The cover is gas invading a suburb. Disease, Injury, Madness is coming, my friends. In the backwards-words of BTBAM in this song.. "you will die with the rest of the nonbelievers."
thelucidherb 10 months ago
@thelucidherb The suburb seems to also be shaped like a human head....

Never really listened to these dudes much before, but I've heard a lot of bitching about how disappointing this album was. This song sounds pretty sexy to me.
