  • you remind me of a girl version of Reece Jones

  • You're right. You don't need them, but some people who use drugs before having spiritual experiences on their own end up believing that they need the drugs in order to have the experiences and doubt their natural abilities. I've compared my experiences with drug users and can honestly say that mine were better, so far, plus I had more control of and within the experiences where as the drug users did not have much control of or within their experiences.

  • Explore and master pranayama and you will see that no drug comes close to the permanent state of conscious bliss available through yoga.

  • Thanks, voidsiriusonly. I do actually practice yoga on a regular basis. I'm only a beginner, but I continue to learn. Thanks for your comment. :)

  • your accent is awesome!

    annddd drugs open the mind.

i never was interested in any type of neuroscience until the first time I smoked.

  • Thank you very much! :)

  • The shitty thing about drugs is the mindset if very important, and at the ssame time you know you are rolling the dice everytime you take one. Because who really knows how aged the shrooms are or what the fucks in the pill. And if your experience isnt right it can set you back years on your path, but at the same time can jump start you.

  • I remember when I was at this point, before experimenting with any psychoactive drugs, I too did good research on many substances... the understanding of these psychoactive drugs was much different from my first encounter with my first psychedelic of choice. It is good to have the knowledge before hand though, and with that, a positive state of mind.

And yes, I agree with you when you said it depends on the individual and that it does have a big effect! very true.

  • Thank you for sharing that.

  • @PeacefullQ Terence Mckenna is great. Have you ever read The Teachings of DonJuan?

  • Hey at least your finding this info out on your own and not second hand. Here in the states we had some lame ass program called DARE feed us a bunch of BS about drugs. Its better that your learning for yourself too, this way you'll have a better idea of when your going to be ready to try them.

  • They can be a good way to aid in opening the mind and subconscious mind a little more than if you have trouble on your own. Not to abuse them of course either. They can only take you so far because in the end you yourself have to be able to discover the depths of your own mind. They're like teachers; they can only teach you so much until you go off on your own. Nevertheless they do help a good amount to some extent but aren't 100% necessary.

  • I completely agree with you.

  • (cont'd...) On my spiritual journey, I've given very little thought to psychoactive drugs. The rational part of me wonders how much truth really comes through such experiences.

I'm also of the idea that our perceptions work the way they do because they're supposed to. The psychoactive experience is maybe an attempt for mind to rejoin oneness, but we forget that the oneness created minds for the express purpose of having experiences of separation.

In short, the physical world is cool. :-)

  • you sound as an apologist 4 the material world....

  • Not at all. I just demand a high level of convincing for a lot of things. I've been fooled by too much over the course of my life.

The thing I notice about some spiritually-minded people is that there is a tendency to be all right-brain (intuitive, creative), no left-brain (rational, mathematical). I think we need to be using both approaches.

The question "How much truth comes through these experiences?" is a valid one, especially since the human brain is prone to all kinds of hallucinations.

  • The earth has created these natural inhabitants of our ecosystem for some reason. Earth consciousness is still at a level much higher than 99.9% of humans that have ever existed. It must have created them for some reason. They are spirits, they are consciousness... they are of the physical world... one final note... oneness embraces a complete goodness that separation in the physical world could never provide. (this has nothing to do with plant teachers)

  • Darryl, there is wondering about experiences, and then there is experiencing experiences! In the hands of a mature individual with the correct intentions (gaining awareness, understanding, new perspective), psychedelics can be very beneficial. They have been so for me and many friends without any perceivable drawbacks.

I believe that man has developed the intelligence to unlock the doors of perception and expand consciousness through various means, psychedelics being a particularly useful one!

  • Excellent point about oneness/separation :)

  • For me, psychedelics have revealed two functions: 1) the dissolving of one's attachment to the physical world, and 2) visionary experiences that only have importance because similar experiences are shared between all people.

Additionally, they can aid in the creation of thought, because it is a new experience.

  • But seriously, difficult subject, this. Reece actually invited me to join The Infinity Sequence, but I declined. I would not have relished talking publicly about this subject, what with my job being what it is. But that's just fear talking, and I need to put that where it belongs.

In any case, I tend to come at it first and foremost from a safety point of view, and I was glad to hear you talking about the guy who trashed his room.

  • I can't help imagining this video in an alternate universe. It goes like this: While you're up the tree, waving, suddenly the camera view jolts sideways. We see flashes of running feet, with the camera tilting all over the place. And in the distance, faintly, we hear girl's voice shouting, "Oi! Bring back my camera, you -" Cut.

    :-D
