@davesanti No it's not really a dump. I mean culturally it is a nice place, but it really is just a giant island crawling with Japanese tourists. I lived there for three years and there wasn't much to do entertainment wise unless you had lots of money to spend. I don't know what it is like now but that was just my experience. There are also massive power outages when there are storms and lots of earth quakes.
