Bach Piano Partita 2

Not bad at all! But your technique... leaves much to be desired. Your hands are flat and your pinky always curls itself up. Also, it lacked the Baroque feel.. felt more like some wannabe Baroque thing out of the Romantic period. But great memory, and bravo for tackling this piece!

Your timing is ok (work on trying to stay somewhat more even). Also, you have too many missed notes, but overall is a good first effort for a young pianist and the implied promise of much improvement in the near future.

I think you have enormous potential and great talent. It's obvious you're still working out some kinks, but I see a great sound in there that you seem to be chipping out.

@Jaimejimmyjim No. If you look closely, you can see the flesh colored fingers. It is the way too bright lighting on her skin that makes her hands seem white. She also is wearing something on her wrist that adds to the impression she is wearing gloves.

Very impressive! Played with intelligence and passion.

I'm 31 and still haven't mastered this 1st movement (if you can ever master Bach that is...). I would love to hear you play the other movements to see how you interpret them.

Also. I don't know if I'd ever be brave enough to perform this without the score in front of me!

listen, agree with huduk77 in as much as bach is all about about touch and sense but i think this is an excellent attempt. as you play more bach pieces you'll understand what he is about, clever and witty, and that is hard to play on the piano. you were trying to be too emotional which would have worked for beethoven or chopin, just imagine when playing bach, that for thispiece you are trying to be carefree and clever. listen, great attempt, i'm a fan.

pianoman1974, you seem overly certain that your interpretation is more valid than hers! Bach can be clever and witty, sure. But it can also be wonderful when it is played romantically. I think what she did was more than an "attempt" like you say. It was a great performance and I can tell she worked very hard to create a finished and polished product!

i agree with you shakespeareviolanerd. it is certainly more than an "attempt". i think that it is a beautiful interpretation, but all i am saying is that although romance in bach is great, this pice is querky and should be played that way. the girl has worked very hard, that i am sure, bach is a nightmare at times,but hey what do i know, at the end of the day, i am an amateur pianist.

In order to performe Bach, you need to have that unique touch and sense of verticality. at least.

Try to play scalles and work on the sound .

You are very young and must not be desheartened by comments. Think positive. and enjoy performing.

Young people must keep in mind that excersise and technik is the requirement for playing the piano. Talented girl. I guess she cant be trying though to achieve high marks in school, odeum, foreign languages and in her volleyballteam. These things simply cant be done. She has to be helped make a good desision.
