@MrYodoghomy I have the same problem. It means that your router is not using WEP. It's probably using WPA, which the DS/DS lite won't accept. I'm currently trying to work around this on my DS lite.

I have a DS Lite, so WPA on my computer is not compatible. The thing is- I have WPA, not WEP, and I don't plan on changing to WEP, because it might mess up my internet settings. I've looked into getting a WiFi USB connector I seen ( Belkin F6D4050ed Wireless N150 USB Adapter. )

Now what I want to know is will this help me get on the internet giving me the Wi-Fi I need ( Even though my netgear wireless router is a WPA ) and if so will it affect my internet on my laptop that Im using now.

Ok I've tried everything I can think of. i've scanned, entered manually, multiple connection settings and still nothing.

On my home wi-fi if I scan, it says it can't find my IP-Address. If I manually input my IP Address and all that, it says it's unable to connect to nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. It keeps telling me to confirm my connection settings and access point settings. All my information is 100% accurate and it's still not working.

Yeah, I did get it to work after a bit more fooling. What I had to do what go under my start menu and type "cmd". In that window type "ipconfig/all". Get all your information from that window (DNS, IP, etc.).

From there I input all that information into the settings of my DS, but for some reason it still wouldn't work. The thing I had to do was change my type of internet from WPA2something to a WEP. To this day my DS won't work unless I change my internet to WEP.

@starwars910 I had to get into my wireless box through my computer, and change it to WEP, but then you'll lose internet, and have to change the setting on your computer and every other computer in the house, to WEP to be able to connect.

I get to the part saying "testing connection" then it just sits there for a few minutes and the connection eventually disappears. Then it says Nintendo error "20100" (I think, I forgot the error number)

My dad helped me figure it out. He set it so it could connect to the internet, but not nintendo wi-fi. Nintendo wi-fi runs on WEP security, not WPA, like we had. So whenever i was to go on nintendo wi-fi, I have to shut off my security :S.

Hopefully you can set yours to WEP.

red = WEP, which the DS does support. You must type the WEP key.

Not the poster, but- if you have a connection that isn't supported, it usually means that you've got a WPA encrypted router, rather than WEP. Nintendo DS only syncs up with WEP encrypted routers. You won't be able to connect to the internet at home from your DS. Try going to a library or school, or another place with open and free wifi.
