Im from Europe, and this is the HARDEST game to find on this region, due to a really limited release in this territory, on ebay this game is really expensive. And i agree with you, its so bad that is actually hilarious... But somehow its entertaining and fun as well!

I don't like it when people are arbitrarily disdainful of people who play fighting games well. Some people find being good at a fighting game and thinking to be more fun than button mashing. Don't be all defensive about being bad at a game, it's all right. Games are for fun and if you find shallowness fun, go with it. Bashing on people who enjoy playing out the complexities is uncalled for though.

Its not a knock off, its merely another game in the same genre.

From your point of view, then Mortal Kombat should be a rip off of either Great Swordsman (death moves in Gladiator mode), Pit-Fighter (digitized human sprites) or Reikai Doushi (decapitation+first digitized sprite fighter), since MK started in 92, while Great Swordsman is from 84, Reikai Doushi is from 89, and Pit-Fighter is from 90.

See?

We can't call'em rip offs when there are precedents for the precedents. ;-)

i liked the monster designs and concepts. For a digitized fighter, its more creative than you run of the mill generic costumed fighter if you consider the other digital fighting games and poor designs. Good music too!

I was hoping to see someone do a review of this ... I was playing this game and thinking AVGN should but I love your mellow and respectful style ... and I did play this game more than I thought ... I don't have a working Saturn but this game you can put into a computer CDROM drive and it works great with SSF emulator at least the .10 beta version.

Pro tip: Pop the game in your CD player to listen to the bonus music track!

Yeah, this game is one you buy really cheaply just to laugh at how bizarre and odd it is. It's not a very good fighting game imo, and as mentioned, the novelty of it wears off very quickly.

There are much better fighting games for the system, but for the $1 or $2 (any more is a ripoff) you'll pay for it, it's worth it just for a night of button mashing with the friends.

i remember seeing a preview for this game in the old school sega visions magazine a loooooong time ago. it was a special sega saturn edition with a bunch of new games for the at the time unreleased saturn. i think this game was called "Van Battle" in the magazine.
