Have any of you ever compared Hillary's voting record to Obama's. There are very similar except for in one area. Hillary votes to protect borders, Obama does not. Hillary votes to take measures to stop insurgents in Iraq, Obama does not. Hillary votes to show support to our military women and men, Obama does not. Get on vote smart and look for yourself. Obama is either ignorant or complacent about the war on terror.
Throughout her campaign she's "borrowed" Obama's message after the fact. After Iowa she became the "change" candidate. Then she got "fired up and ready to go" and now she's chanting "yes we will!" and pumping her fist in the air ... but no one else is chanting with her. I would have a lot more respect for Hillary if she would "find her voice" once and for all, and hang onto it for more than a week. Obama's message sounds stilted and phony coming out of her mouth, as it should. It's not hers.
Words do matter and can make a difference. Obama is using a Bush strategy when it comes to his health care plan. Mislead often enough and people start believing it is true. He admitted it will not cover everyone and still calls it his "universal" health care plan. Universal means all. His plan does not cover all, therefore he should call his plan my "Some" people healh care plan. For someone that is running on words, it would be nice if he would use only his own words and use them accurately.

Using famous words that are known is still not the same as using unfamous and unknown...and it was more than just two words; it was two phrases. And someone saying, use my words, is different than a speech writer. Obama should have given him credit. The problem is Obama's speeches are the only thing he has going for him, and if his words are not his own, that is a big deal. It makes him look bad and she is smart to point it out.

Barack has shown the ability to work in a nonpartisan way. eg. In the IL Senate, he convinced Republicans and Police to unanimously approve his proposal for Dealth Penalty reform. Police later endorsed him in the US Senate.
So Obama somehow thinks he owns the rights to the phrase "fired up and ready to go". Oh really, the phrase has been used for used colloquially, in reference to computers, grills, cars, TiVo, the war, rhetoric, and things that shouldn't be mentioned in mixed company. One democratic blog in 2001 even used the term in reference to a drive about the recount of the FL vote. McCain also used it during his 2000 Presidential campaign. Quite different than plagarizing a big section of a speech.

Hillary used common catch phrases. That is very different than using somebody's exact words to express an ideology and not giving them credit. There's a big difference here than using the same catch phrase and Obama clearly lifting a major portion of his speech from Gov. Deval Patrick without attribution.
I agree that Obama's comment was slightly more substantive than Hillary using his rallying cry, but "a major portion of his speech"? It was one point, lasting maybe 20 seconds, and Deval Patrick gave him permission to do so. In stump speeches in particular, I don't see how that's plagiarism any more than Hillary saying, "He campaigns in poetry, and I govern in prose," which is Mario Cuomo's far more distinct turn of phrase.
It lasted only 20 seconds even including the quotes from famous Americans. Only these two words were borrowed from Deval Patrick - "Just words." - And Patrick authorized Obama to use them. It was not a 'major portion' of Obama's speech by any stretch. Boston Globe April 16, 2007 has a story on the two of them collaborating on speeches. They are old friends. This is a non-issue. Hillary needs to grow up.

Nevermind the speeches, the experience, etc.
Let's evaluate the two candidates based on how they ran their campaign. One candidate started off arrogant, underestimated their opponent, made comments that states and votes lost didnt matter (basically those voters didnt matter),campaign went bankrupt, took out a personal loan. Lost composure seeing NAFTA pamphlet...etc. Went negative, fired personnel.
That is not who you want running your country. WAKE UP

Throughout her campaign she's "borrowed" Obama's message after the fact. After Iowa she became the "change" candidate. Then she got "fired up and ready to go" and now she's chanting "yes we will!" and pumping her fist in the air ... but no one else is chanting with her. I would have a lot more respect for Hillary if she would "find her voice" once and for all, and hang onto it for more than a week. Obama's message sounds stilted and phony coming out of her mouth, as it should. It's not hers.

Words do matter and can make a difference. Obama is using a Bush strategy when it comes to his health care plan. Mislead often enough and people start believing it is true. He admitted it will not cover everyone and still calls it his "universal" health care plan. Universal means all. His plan does not cover all, therefore he should call his plan my "Some" people healh care plan. For someone that is running on words, it would be nice if he would use only his own words and use them accurately.

check it out: on his website, under tab 'issues' there's a 64 page booklet stating what his ideas for change are and how he is going to do it.
But, you know, before any of that change can happen, he has to instill in people the will to make it happen. Obama has done that. Look at the record numbers donating small amounts to his campaign. $37 million in just January... over 200,000 people were new donors. 90% donations under $100.
That's a lot of people inspired for change. =)

Using famous words that are known is still not the same as using unfamous and unknown...and it was more than just two words; it was two phrases. And someone saying, use my words, is different than a speech writer. Obama should have given him credit. The problem is Obama's speeches are the only thing he has going for him, and if his words are not his own, that is a big deal. It makes him look bad and she is smart to point it out.

There's a 64 pg booklet summarizing the details on Obama's plans for change. Although, both Hillary & Barack have very similar plans. The diff is who will be successful in implementing them. Barack has shown the ability to work in a nonpartisan way. eg. In the IL Senate, he convinced Republicans and Police to unanimously approve his proposal for Dealth Penalty reform. Police later endorsed him in the US Senate.

So Obama somehow thinks he owns the rights to the phrase "fired up and ready to go". Oh really, the phrase has been used for used colloquially, in reference to computers, grills, cars, TiVo, the war, rhetoric, and things that shouldn't be mentioned in mixed company. One democratic blog in 2001 even used the term in reference to a drive about the recount of the FL vote. McCain also used it during his 2000 Presidential campaign. Quite different than plagarizing a big section of a speech.

Hillary used common catch phrases. That is very different than using somebody's exact words to express an ideology and not giving them credit. The problem with Obama is that he is a bunch of old ideas being powered with plagiarized words that are known quantities (words that have been proven to move) to sale himself to the American people. I agree that Obama's comment was slightly more substantive than Hillary using his rallying cry, but "a major portion of his speech"? It was one point, lasting maybe 20 seconds, and Deval Patrick gave him permission to do so. In stump speeches in particular, I don't see how that's plagiarism any more than Hillary saying, "He campaigns in poetry, and I govern in prose," which is Mario Cuomo's far more distinct turn of phrase.

It lasted only 20 seconds even including the quotes from famous Americans. Only these two words were borrowed from Deval Patrick - "Just words." - And Patrick authorized Obama to use them. It was not a 'major portion' of Obama's speech by any stretch. Boston Globe April 16, 2007 has a story on the two of them collaborating on speeches. They are old friends. This is a non-issue. Hillary needs to grow up.

With the ongoing Clinton blizzard, maintain perspective. Hillary is a woman who hasn't managed so much as a corner vegetable stand, or for that matter her own marriage; but, of course you could count Whitewater, and her tenure as "Madam" for Bill's White House Brothel. So what possibly is there that qualifies Bill's official "Bimbo Containment Chief" for the Presidency? HOW CAN HE SAY THIS IS NOT A BIG DEAL!!!! I am a teacher/health professional. The issue is he misled people to think that these were his own words. Plagiarism involves taking someone elses work and making it appear as though it were your own.
Who cares it is his so-called friend. I don't let students use their friends work!!!!

Hillary in one of her campaign speeches recently said "you campaign in poetry, but you govern in prose". Great line. Only its not hers. It was said by Mario Cuomo. Hillary did not give him credit in her speech.
Secondly, all of these guys have speech writers. The President of the United States has a speech writer. John Kennedy had a speech writer. So I hate to burst your bubble,but politicians RARELY give an entire speech of words they wrote.
But leave it to Hillary to fling the poo.
