@KurothNeidra This is not old. It is in Alpha lol, i remember when alpha came out! Ive been playing minecraft since the very first release of indev. this i consider to be a fairly new video.

What i want to know is how to get the reversed door that closes with power. Normaly single doors open with poor, which makes locks pointless as anyone can simply slap a redstone torch on the floor in the front of the door and it will open.

@cerevox stand in the door frame face the wall and then place the door. this puts it in sideways so that open and closed get reversed

lol i prefer a simple pressure pad i step on it the dor opens and let me pass and when i pass the door it closes

or maybe a locking combination is to set the dor to open put a pressure pad outside and jump over it so it doenst close the door as mobs will step on the pad the door will close keeping them out and your safehouse safe xD

This can also work if the door starts closed; just make an inverter. Same thing if the switch starts up.

Sometimes, in MP, my game glitches and I get a metal door that is open without power, or the other way around.

Though it dsnt matter if ON=open or OFF=open, since you can wire that to happen.

NOT i.e. will give power if no power is given.

This video is OLD now. I've since created a 5 button combination locked door. The door will only open if the correct buttons, and ONLY the correct buttons, have been pressed. I might upload it sometime soon, but I hardly have time to play recently. :\

@KurothNeidra several people have done that already. some (including me) have set panels which get hit by a block of any item and then open the door. If you want to be really weird then do what i did and set a combo lock with the panels. make a hole in the wall which leads to the panel with water.

it would be neat to see some devices in this game that actually needed the current you can make in the game. maybe like a fridge and some other electrical stuff. you know so you'd have to find ways to power it and turn them off when needed, if you forgot to turn them off, something bad would happen.. donno, just a thought

@Cronieock Presumably it will be useful once we have survival multiplayer.

The problem is that it can only be locked from the inside! No point locking to doors unless you're out.

@Cronieock Some people have pressure pads for ease of opening doors, these can also be operated by mobs stepping on them. Locking doors at night is always the safest option! ;D
