this is sweet man, i was worried at first but pretty glad i stuck around. not entirely sure on your lyrics yet mostly because i think it would be better if you didn't try to make it funny (i hope some of those lyrics are comical), but hey, it's your song.
really i guess i mostly wanted to compliment the sweet piano piece.. and your voice is just right for that sound.
Sorry if I'm being annoying but I'd love it if someone could give me the chords to this. I fail too much to figure them out for myself... In exchange I'll teach you to speak Irish. First lesson, teip (pronounced 'tep' not 'teep') is the word for fail :)
Hey Gerry. First of all, I explain my name above . As for chords, I am notoriously terrible at writing anything out (I never do it). However, in short: f, aflat dim, gm7, c7 (Turnaround). f, aflat dim, amin, d7 walk up to, g7, c7 (Verse, to befollowed by turnaround). a7, d7 (with chromatic riff), e7, a7 (bridge). That's about it! Enjoy!
Thank you muchly for the reply, good sir. I really apprechiate it.
I recorded a cover of 'Room in your Heart' the other day. (guitar, bass and vocals. I might throw in drums at some stage) The only thing is, my bass is older than me and the pick-ups and crappy. So every 15 seconds, I get this really loud buzz. If I can sort that out, would you mind if I uploaded it as a video response to your video of it? ^^
Sorry, Gerry. I just saw this. Of course! That'd be awesome! Don't worry about the sound! I have tons of pops on my songs. It's all good. Thanks for covering me. That's a very exciting first!

You know, I came up with it when I was about eight, because I was reading a lot of fantasy novels, and thought it sounded like something you'd call an elf with special powers. No. I'm not kidding.
Ok, i want to learn this song :P It sounds like upbeat Tom Waits song (except you obviously dont have the voice of someone who's been smoking eight. Thanks for this song. I really like it mate :)
Thanks Gerry. Actually, next time around, I think I'll ask people to record/post covers of my songs. I don't know if anyone'll do it. But I hope they do. So if you feel like learning this one, please do!
Once I'm done learning my death cab for cutie songs, I ma try learn this and you best "homicidle tendencies". I would rate that song as in my top 5 of all time!
Your song reminds me of the act in the play Macbeth where the gaurd is drunk and wakes up to go and answer the door. Amazing song it made me laugh alot and I was feeling bad to so thank you. ;)
I didn't mean for that to be so authoritative, haha. By the way, I'm friends with you on Myspace, and I sent you this really complimentary message the other day, and you read it, but never responded. What's the deal, sir?
Awesome. I love how the music to it suggests drunkenness, like a less faddish version of Shep Fields's Rippling Rhythm, which, uh, rippled. This one sort of stomps around, and then feels really self-aware about it and tries to tip-toe for a while.
I like this one, it has a jazzy tune and I like the stride Piano thing your doing. The only complaint I have about your songs in genral is that they really don't have a catchy intro. Like almost all of Eltons songs have some sort of intro riff that people instantly recognize and know the song
great song :)
