This is a cause for a celebration. We can do so with acorn bread. "Hutaj-a" is Southern Sierra Miwok. "K!one' " is Salinan. It is traditional wrapped in leaves, and placed underground in an earth oven. When it comes out, it is coal black, and when sliced it is rubbery like Monterey Jack cheese. It is really quite good. Having foods is a great way to experience a language. So go back to the traditional foods, to experience the traditional language.
