For all "experts" who talk here about danger and mortal radiation. Just try to find some real information about consequences of Chernobyl disaster. You find that mortal source of radiation is just from reactor under shelter and in organic materials like grass, trees etc. The level of radiation inside the buldings is nowdays less than you get in the plane above ozone layer. The state of swimming pool as you see in this video is not evoked by reactor explosion but by vandalism of people who...
... came here to stole some staff and ruin this place just for fun. The guide told us that after the disaster workers that helped there to deal with accident normaly used this pool for relaxation. So stop write here these bullshits and disinform other people. I know what i am talkikng about because contrary of you i was there and get all the information about this place and real state and danger of this place.
@NakenFeetAttack exactly my thoughts, it's unrespectful and bloody dangerous to go up there. They should have been thrown out of the exclusion zone immediately.
I,m suprised to see how many people dont know shit about what happen to this area. Maybe it's getting more attention here in Europe, cause it's not that far away. Or do people in the US just dont give a fuck, as long its not in their country... Correct me if i,m wrong.
Were you on a tour? If so do they let you go inside alot of buildings? This is so cool! Thanks for uploading by the way! I hope in a few years I can go..I live in the USA so it's a long and expensive trip!
@VoteforJimJepson Would cost aroun 500 dollars I believe not sure if thats just the tour price though, don't trust me i'm not accurate i'm just going from what i've learnt xD
@jawz117 the kid fishing in the pool was tagged on there by somebody, originally it wasn't there as for the basketball court I guess they didn't want it.
either 1. you might touch some radioactive shit and you die of cancer. 2. you wouldnt want to go into debris and cut/impale/inject yourself accidently with radioactive stuff
Certainly, radiation in the town of Pripyat is not so high as one can guess - In fact there are still workers in the Nuclear Powerplant that has been in service for many years after the accident. The real problem is that most of the radiation released from the accident is now concentrated in the soil and certain materials. You can have a normal radiation measure in a given place and a much more higher one a few meters away. Pripyat is not a place to live in, but it is not so dangerous to visit.
Not really, only reactor number 4 is enclosured in the so-called sarcophagus. The other 3 reactors that were already in service when number 4 exploded kept on working for a very long time after the accident. The other 2 reactors that were under construction at the time of the accident were discontinued. Ucrania, because of the difficult economic times that followed the collapse of the Soviet Union, had to rely on nuclear power and Chernobyl was there.
thesupersimer lol the radiation isnt so dangerous one guy was in radiation 16.11 thats 70 x more then normal and he isnt dammeged or death if you get to gamma ray radiatian well then you are fucked and can write testament
Radiation in chernobyl, prypiat and in whole zone is lower than in a lot of places in the world - there are places in south France where natural radiation is 10 times higher. Radiation in big european or US cities is about the same as in prypiat.
No danger in closed zone.
The radiation there is a bollshit - there are a lot o people that will get money if people will think like that..
homahoo you retard the radition level has dramatically decreased... its like under 20% chance of getting poisoning from it... and there are only some "pockets" of raditation..
ok bro but im sorry to burst your bubble....i looked up the facts and there is an extremly high chance of getting radioactive poisoning and getting a crazy version of cancer if u lived there......and your comment about "pockets" of radiation; you need to lay off the COD 4 all ghillied up dont u bud....the radiation wont be gone for another app. 180 years........radioactivity doesnt leave an outside area for app. 200 years.....so homahoo isnt retarded....he was exaderating
lol i dont get it... everybody is talking about cod4 when viewing this stuff of chernobyl? hasn't anyone played stalker? it has way more authentic atmosphere...
Having been there and having looked clips from both games, I would say that with few exceptions the town displayed in COD4 is much closer to the actual town.
maybe but cod4 had the heavy dust hanging in the air and childrens laughter.. pretty authentic whereas stalker has mutants and anomalys lol there both good games
the pool is in COD4 its in the mission "all ghillied up" and so is the ferris wheel and i wonder how the guy who shot this vid did not get radiation poisoning because even with a radiation suit which this dude did not have you can still get radiation poisoning so this guy had like 99.9% chance of getting radiation poisoning
becouse:the radiation never goes away completely, but it does half in a given number of time, if it was still to radioactive, chernobyl would never be opened to the public it would probbally not even be opened to anyone but sientific folks with lots of high-tech shit
i dont know where you got the " 99.9% chance of getting radiation poisoning"
but it aint true try and forget it and look it up in wikipedoa
lolol he wasnt there 2 days later the accident man -.- read a little more, u can even go without a radiation suit in certain areas and u can walk freely to ur house :D
whats strange is i dont find images of (for example) a severed body as disturbing..but for me this film is disturbing because of what happend there. i mean to live there at the time must be horrific. still i love history and would love to go.

People don't live in Pripyat no more, because if they eat vegetables, they will die because of the radiation, so thiat is why.
