Well, what did you guys expect? This was a new station...a new PUBLIC station. They couldn't really afford a big, expensive campaign. PBS in the early 70's was about as grassroots as can be.
johnsesame28: You mean there actually used to be such a thing as Sesame Street reruns? You're kidding. I thought they had never done that, ever. (Not counting the Noggin run, and PBS Sprout stuff of recent years). PBS in the 70s actually reran earlier seasons?

they could've at least written "Public Broadcasting Service" in a non-standard font/typeface instead of just plain font

The voice is MacDonald Carey, who was the voice for the opening of "Days of Our Lives"

Tell me about it; this logo got plastered by the 1971 logo later on, including the episodes of Sesame Street old school DVD set.
