Fighting too must between them, is a bad idea, as a lion or tiger could easily kill another, so obviously, they wouldn`t want to fight for any reason, likewise, you must recognize the actions of these animals for what they are. I tend to think Lions make better fighters but only due to Tigers looking very large and sluggish. Massively built people tend to make bad fighters due to slow muscle twitch fibers and low stamina, I am a Lion fan but give the Tiger all the respect it deserves. The Tiger is like a body builder and the Lion is like a UFC/MMA fighter.

@Lionk1ngs Even the summer coat on a Siberian is longer then a lion`s coat. I`ve seen a Siberian of 400 lbs look something like 650 lbs. But, that wasn`t his weight. I assure you that lions match Siberians in almost every aspect, with but a few notable differences.
@brentlion Nah I lived in Onsk for four years and have seen around 12 full sized African Lions, They are big but quite lean in comparison with a Amur Tiger at captive weight. Tigers are shorter and more compact. Tigers are prone to obesity if the handlers are not careful with feeding though. We had a 800lb Siberian/Bengal mix named Kaiser who was borderline obese. No cat in the world compares to a Amur Tiger when hes shaved down. He looks larger than a Bear in muscularity. Just beautiful.

The lion wasn`t running from the tiger in this case. Before the lion moved, the tiger began to lower his head, and that is a signal of submission. Elated that he won, the lion tromped off, head held high, and roaring, although we don`t see this here.

Lions are not braver on the other hand if you actually research the real nature of lions instead of the movie propaganda that we're lead to believe from childhood, lions fight on an average of 6-8 times in they're life times against rival males, tigers fight each other on almost every kill. Plus the siberian tigers hunt grizzlies which is a much bigger threat than a lion. Look at actual research from professionals....

The lions just looked whipped or scared to go at the tigers that looked wild. comparison between tiger and lion.lions are bigger faster and have more agility that tigers, while tigers are heavier and pack a powerful hit. from a scale of 1-10 (im talkin about hit strength) tiger gets 9, and lion gets 8. in my opinion the lion would win in a fight, due to the lions agility and speed bonuses, the lion can hit the tiger at least twice before the tiger can hit again. uh the ansewer to why there placed togeather linos and tigers can interbreed and the hybrid brings in more ratings customers and whatever but also lions in the own habitat would fight for domanance and mating partners and i think tigers may have the same issue so i dont think it matters to much if the male was bigger and a bit more powerfuller the hierachy wouldnt be an issue but as you saw in a one on one scrap he ran leaving the other cats well kinda disapointed
