I'm a 1st ammendment purist and don't want any bans on any speech. I've read Horowitz's books and his contention is that certain depts (e.g. English, History, PolySci, etc.) in many universities have become heavily politicized and, over time, have become exclisively radical left, intentionally refusing to add ANY conservative voices to their faculty. I'm not sure to what extent this is really true, but I think it's something that should be looked into.

This whole debate is a sideshow to divert attention(as always) from what the rest of the world already knows. Understand that aligning oneself with radical statists like Horowitz is showing ouright support of the typical kamisar who supports power and murder throughout world history. The debate here is myopic and typical of media from any corporate source in the world. This diverts attention from state terrorism backed by the US anywhere there is money to be repatriated.

I'm a 1st ammendment purist and don't want any bans on any speech. I've read Horowitz's books and his contention is that certain depts (e.g. English, History, PolySci, etc.) in many universities have become heavily politicized and, over time, have become exclisively radical left, intentionally refusing to add ANY conservative voices to their faculty. I'm not sure to what extent this is really true, but I think it's something that should be looked into.

Neither Horowitz nor Beck engage in rational speech. Horowitz seems to have no other objective in life but to bash Islam and promote Zionism.
It is understandable that they get upset because we Americans, and our students, have other agendas. It is understandable as the fanaticism of Islam is.

I don't understand this: why does the Bush adminstration bang on about democracy in Iraq, and how oppressed the Iranian people are? They also prattle on about Chavez being a vicious dictator, but they turn a blind eye to Saudi Arabia because it gives us lots of oil. Very hypocritical. Makes me doubt the motives for invading countries. Last thing I read, they were doing arms deals with the Saudis to counter Iran.

That doesn't mean we kill 1 bn muslims. We need to eliminate Islam and democratize their countries. This is the only viable, longterm solution and will cost the least amount of lives and damage to our planet (vs nuclear holocaust).
If we do nothing, eventually they will become majorities in our countries and Islamify them. Under muslim rule, non-muslims are offered only 3 choices: conversion, subjugation or death. This war is very real and we can't be complacent, we must win.

Saying Islam has the vast majority of loons without proof of such is an empty claim (don't point to the media as proof). There is also a big difference between what a book says and what people believe about it. What a person believes about their religion becomes their religion, which explains why we have moderates and radicals in all religions. Check out Fred Phelps from the westboro baptist church to see an example of a Christian extremist.

When it comes to war, we attack nations capabilities to make war. You win wars by destroying the capacity of the enemy to make war. That doctrine is very old and still accurate. War's goal is not to destroy the enemy, merely to neutralize their threat. (At least in defensive war.)

A) To establish democracies elsewhere - this is not accomplished by our direct interference in other countries - merely having a high standard of living and true freedoms. Other countries will fight to achieve their own democracies with such examples to live up to. So the Bush doctrine - as I see it - is as backwards as you can get.
