  • Hi, I successfully rooted my phone and it works on my laptop but it won't work for my iPhone 3GS that I use as an iPod. Can you please help?

    Thanks

  • @idontnoo100 look up how to enable those to work with ad-hoc. you triumph is working fine. but the triumph also runs at a MTU of1472

  • Has gingerbreak ever bricked a phone?

  • @anonymous10001000 I have had it become non responsive from task killers. if you want no conflict then back your stuff up and factory reset before.

  • Does this work on any and I mean "ANY" Android phone running 2.3 Gingerbread?

  • You're the best!

  • Nice, really helpful

  • Thanks for your reply. : - )

  • Thanks mstechify, I'll hold off till Feb. Heck, I've waited this long. I did search for a VM leak for new phone launches. Came up with two devices ....Chaser and the Venture. Both low end devices with 600 MHz processors. Triumph beats em. You have any experience with H2O Wireless or Simple Mobile....? Thanks..

  • @143ProudMama don't have experience with companies but glancing at plans and some phones... the H2o looks over priced if you get any data (250mb plan not wort it). the simple mobile prices look promising for the 60 unlimited everything. androids are out dated OS for decent priced ones, careful wildfire there is not the latest "wildfire S" and nice is over priced phones. 4g phone starts $349 coverage think tmobile towers. h20 att towers

  • So glad I found your channel. You are simple, humble and VERY good. Thanks. I am going to switch to VM. I NEED to save $. Would you recommend the Moto Triumph? I am planning on keeping up with whatever you do on YT to update the phone. At my own risk of coarse, but I am a risk taker! Thanks again...you are brilliant!

  • @143ProudMama I do like moto triumph because it gives me more of what I need and I don't use the GPS which is it's downfall. in the last few days best buy, radio shack, walmart are sold-out on line of triumph, and radioshack limited few in stores. few things. there is new phones coming out in feb that could replace, there is rumor that few customers were told a big update coming to triumph, or moto cutting expenses and dropping the triumph. you can find it 239 amazon if want now. BUT! i.. CONT..

  • @143ProudMama CONT.. I suggest if you possibly can holding off purchase till Feb. Options are always good. what ever it is something is happening. and Feb is VM release month. Should start hearing things soon. If you can't wait amazon price not bad. but if you need GPS and have to have phone now my second choice is Optimus V (99 at walmart sale) get 3600 battery for alomst 2 days big use(ebay about 10) at that lower price what ever comes along it's easier on pocket to upgrade. also 30days return

  • @mstechify sorry winded answer meant 30 day return and swap out for what ever feb has to hold and or passing on the phone to a kid is always nice

  • Best buy and Radioshack walmart are not carrying Triumph in stock at stores. This might be because they are getting ready to bring in a new phone. and or fingers crossed they are working on fixing and an update might be coming.

  • is there any known ways of overclocking the mt yet?

  • @iTzGavin96 yes sending info

  • after i root it, what else is there to do ??

  • @Haiti4lyf start with looking at titanium back up (try freezing preinstalled cr.. apps), adfree

  • @mstechify thanks. also, how would i upgrade to gingerbread?

  • @Haiti4lyf that reqauires turning your phone into recovery mod and installing clockwork mod and cyanogen mod. i tried it but i messed up real bad and my phone messed up but mstechify fixed it for me (helped me fix it) :D

  • @Haiti4lyf message sent few days ago on rom for gingerbread. though there is rumors very small rumors of a possible update through moto. They better announce it before Ice cream gets finished for triumph or people will flock to that.

  • @mstechify

What could happen, worst case scenario, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, with this?

Also, how do i back up before rooting? :-) thanks

  • @KroghNano worse case for using gingerbreak and it doesn't root is it just hangs.. in that case hit the homebutton to drop it out. happen on LG optimus Slider. didn't work and homebutton it and removed gingerbreak. ended up using a different app. But wait! I though Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc required unlocking the bootloader. sending message to you. back up in accounts calendar contacts.

  • @mstechify Do you have to have the SD Card formated (erased) to do this, or will it work without one?

  • @tang0d0wn425 must have sd card. no need to erase it

  • thank youuuu u helped me root like 3 phones i wish i cud subscribe to u 3 timesss

  • how do you download gingerbreak to the phone

  • @909apena just download it and have a file manager. be sure to back up and reset the phone so there are no apps to cause a problem.

  • Thank you

  • Doesn't a factory data reset deactivate the phone

  • @Pugboy1321 no it doesn't. phone number and network are still there. that is a different step to clear. see video I posted data reset wildfire s. I show how that is done. though the videos posted may not be specific to your phone I try to include some information that would be of use for everybody

  • I got to rooting with gingerbreak and their suggestions but how do you get 2.3 on it? I can't seem to find concise info on this?Further depth seem 2.3 mods don't work with vm as in you can't get calls or mms. What did you use and does it work?

ty for the vids, you sold me on the triumph

  • @tearfromthared sent you message to help 2.3

  • Comment removed

  • Does this work on lg optimus s 2.3.3?

  • @sg53000 be sure and back up and reset phone before root. if it doesn't work it will just hang for over 15 minutes and hit home button screen to stop. BTW did you know the LG optimus S has the carrier IQ running on it that loggs and send every keystroke? are you trying to root to get rid of? there is a video that show how to hard reset Optimus v / S . and root processes

  • @mstechify are they going to have any other christmas sales before or after christmas sales do you know?

  • @kiamberlove don't know. nobody even knew of cyber monday till it happened.

  • @mstechify is cybeR Monday only for today or every monday??

  • @kiamberlove only for today

  • @kiamberlove save20 promo get extra 20% off that 120 triumph woot

  • @mstechify is it possible to root without memory card installed??

  • @mstechify.. my mom said that the lg optmus v is still going to cost 129 on black Friday I thought it was 50!!!

  • @kiamberlove please go see my video on black friday no-contract phone sales, were I also place under the video a link to the target ad as well as show the page in the video

  • @kiamberlove at yes target 49.99. you won't see price change on the internet till sales starts

  • how long did it take to root it

  • what are the risks of rooting a moto triumph... worst case scenario?

  • @LILWHITEISTIGHT dead phone, brick. that is why I have said do do a back up of contacts calendar sd card and do a hard reset. sign onto market and get file manager and root. less chance of any app causing problems. I tried rooting once with a task killer app running and it wouldn't work. Using gingerbreak 1.20 I have never had issue and I have rooted and unrooted, hard reset several times to see if it was ok. and it is. Gingerbreak doesn't work on every phone though but it will on triumph.

  • I tried this with my desire HD, but it was taking longer than I thought it should like 15 mins so I ended it. Can someone help me figure out how to root it?

  • @arineido will send you link of something to try. don't have a desire HD to test but comments says it works on 2.2

  • @mstechify you are the most helpful person I have seen on Youtube, thumbs up! (Because you answer all comments :D)

  • Do you know how to get andriod 2.3.5 on the triumph?

  • @g41vcyxz I hear 2.3.7 works better. look up miui

  • what does mut set for 1490 mean? thanks

  • @daniellecwann MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) the size of the MTU on the device connecting to your hotspot needs to be 1472. most devices have standard MTU set at 1500. how to change it depends on what it is.

  • VM announce today it will be postponing the 2.5 GB data cap untill 2012. VM also announce HTC Wildfire S will release Oct 23 for price of $199.99 and color depends on store. Also VM announce LG Optimus Slider will be released will be available Oct. 17 VMusa site for $199.99. The smartphone will be available Oct. 31 in Best Buy and RadioShack and Target Nov. 6.... • New Video posted: Motorola Triumph Replacement Battery 1500 mAh Anker

  • i really enjoy your videos on the motorola triumph, peeling factory screen protector and putting on the stealth shields was alot easier after watching your vids thanx! keep up the good work :)

  • i really enjoy your videos on the motorola triumph, peeling factory screen protector and putting on the stealth shields was alot easier after watching your vids thanx! keep up the good work :)

  • Do you keep your phone rooted or are you satisfied with what the phone came with? You look like you know what your doing so I need some advice on whether is it worth rooting or leaving it alone?

  • @bmje14 Just rooting is not for bragging rights. Rooting is only for if there is something you need or want to do that requires rooting... To root and do nothing with it is like lifting your truck and never playing in the mud. I don't want to tell you to root or not to, cause there is always a risk, it has to be your own choice and if you can not afford to take the risk then stay out of the mud. BUT IT IS SO FUN.... >=)

  • @mstechify okay thanks alot. :) By the way how is the new battery for your triumph working?

  • @bmje14 I am about ready to post results (handing the phone of to people to play on it and use battery) will show batteries side by side. hope to have vid posted wed. Testing light use, med use, and heavy use (such as use of launchers and widgets games movies for OEM and 1500 battery. Hoping this will also appease those that also want to purchase and concern is battery life. Was fun and not going to give away the ending.

  • @mstechify thanks alot. :)

  • @bmje14 if you just want a different launcher or customized texting then there is no need to root. plenty of free apps that can do that.

  • so....what changes with all this?

  • @itsmeadin Rooting lets you take full advantage of what your hardware is capable of . such as overclocking and bypass the OS's limitations. permissions are required for such apps to operate and need root access.... tether, keyboards, customs roms, and just because you can. But all things do at your own risk.

  • Stay tuned I have purchased a 1500mAh battery, little more juice, for the Triumph to see if it can out perform the OEM battery even by a l little bit. Will post usage results and size comparison after I have had a chance to discharge the battery a few times.

  • New video posted of working ooVoo and how to get it.

  • how would you take the virgin mobile voice thing out the boot up when your turning the triumph back on

  • @marvinwhaaaaat there are apps that make silent boot. but they only do what you could easily do manually without adding just another thing taking up space on the phone. before shutting phone off just put phone in silent mode. it is silent shutting down and starting up. and when turning phone on once booted slide you finger on screen right to left to turn the sound on (opposite direction of unlocking the screen ;)

  • @marvinwhaaaaat oh and messing with system files to get rid of it is know in some cases to then play random sounds or reboot. you could also look into making a silent mp3 file and replacing the virgin mobile logo sound

  • So quick question, I just got an android phone and I love it. However I cant upgrade it to 2.3 and its annoying me. Can I root, upgrade my phone, unroot. and still keep the upgrade? Im afraid to root because im scared im gonna brick my phone lol.

  • @JohnSevren first off what phone do you have? rooting your phone doesn't grantee you are going to get 2.3. be sure and make a recovery image. I will send you a link to a video that should help better answer going over recovery image and rom... must use rom specific to your phone. make sure it is stable if you don't have experience let others test out the rom. as far as I know Triumph cm7 is not fully functioning but i have not checked for a week on cm7

  • @mstechify I have a triumph as well haha. I read all about the recovery stuff, but im still unsure. How does the phone get bricked in the first place?

  • @JohnSevren now days with things like gingerbreak it is less common to brick your phone when just rooting. You will find bricking more so when you have messed up the bootloader or installed apps that require rooting. WHY because rooting goes around the restrictions that were put in place to keep it from happening but are limiting. read everything you are installing that requires root access or not and know what it is fully going to do and find out if it is it a malicious app

  • When you root your phone, does it delete the stuff on your sd card?

  • @xSCqtx22x no

  • Whats rooting & un-rooting mean or wat does it do ? lol yes im blonde ha

  • @916nene rooting allows access to changes in the phones system that you would not other wise have access to. un-rooting put it back to where you were before you began.

  • i didnt quiet get this video. wat did u take off? or do?

  • @blade83336 I rooted allowing access to changes in the phones system that you would not other wise have access to. and then I removed access and all remnants of the rooting say if you were to decide to return the phone.

  • New video uploading just Triumph meant to compliment the comparison review of the Motorola Triumph from Virgin Mobile USA going over most asked questions and comments. Things to know before purchase. Going over Camera, video quality, call quality, speakerphone, gps, antenna signal, wifi, Bluetooth, headphone jack, battery use, screen flicker, hotspot. also 30% off at best buy, see new video (read "show more" area) for more info.

  • i have it its awesome

  • awesome

  • Hey does the triumph able to have live wallpaper

  • @esteman963 Of course!

  • Oh ok alright

  • What are some of the things you can do when you unroot it?

  • @esteman963 I only showed how to unroot cause it was an option. ding so would be for... say if you were sending the phone back or you find you didn't want it rooted. just cause.

  • As per xda instructions you are not suppose to download gingerbreak to your sdcard.i dont know what difference it makes but it might be the reason you still had superuser after you unrooted your phone.

  • @savage12333 no you are suppose to instal gingerbreak to the device not instal gingerbreak and then move to to sd card. Putting the apk on the sd card is not installing it. that is the step before.

  • Awesome instructions thanks!
