Well he said he had trouble with "To record water" and "Shadows" because he wanted everything perfect. His albums that proceeded those were not as good in my opinion but it showed that he didn't need everything perfect. Leave the songs for what they are, unique in their own way.

Listen to every instrument individually and its purpose in the album and try to feel what john want to express with this albums. This albulm is a master piece lyricly and musicly. Alot of poem and a lot of guitar with synthesizers sound in it, alot of strange sounds I don't know this albums is a complete albumn. No comparation with the others.
