  • My mother has been in print journalism since the mid 70's. The Oprah-ization of journalism changed things. Shrill alarmist BS seems to permeate the media today while real news gets shelved. Media is interested in the 'what if' or 'its only a matter of time' scenario. What if terrorists did this, its only a matter of time until the flu kills us all.

She also observes the kids fresh out of J-school want to do all fact checking on the internet. Real sources are rarely developed now.

  • This movie is actually a great document of the news industry and our society in transformation. We live disruptive times in technology with Facebook and Twitter conquering the world. I think it's relevant to understand that we still need quality journalism in order to give us a broader perspective of life - more than just our peer groups in social media. Thank you for this movie!

  • Seen it today. Americans working for corporations in the media profession delude themselves into thinking they're journalists, when in reality they're slaves of public opinion, slaves of government intimidation, and just as bad-slaves of the price of their stock. All three detrimental elements are the reason why the Iraq War was waged under false premises and why you don't see a single "reporter" in the US speak ill of a country like Israel in the mainsream Zionist American media. Goodbye NYT.

  • @DarkReapersGrim You almostg had a point until you used the ultimate red flag word: Zionist.

    Filing your coment under "Nutjob."

  • @r3t0dd Right. I'll file yours under "puppet," where 299 million Americans lay.

  • I wonder how many commenters have actually seen this film.

  • Great documentary

  • stop wasting paper assholes!

  • You should go out of business you RaciST FuCk... As if you didn"t know what your KLu Klux Klowns are doing over seas.. It was a White Boy who looks just like your son that was behind Oklahoma Bombing but your to busy worrying about Iraq.. Bush was the president back then, this propaganda that you created would have started way before 7/11... Fuk the Media and Journalists on TV working for the KKK..

  • @pineapplethenmilk where can i download this version, it's a bit different. : /

  • Seeing this tonight. Exciting.

  • why is rated R WTF

  • what is the name of the song in the opening seconds?

  • @Brewskis4Broskis It's a snippet of the prelude from Bach´s Cello Suite No. 1

  • WMD's, yellowcake, Osama bin Laden

    Fuck the NYT

  • My name is George Jackson and I'm 14 years old. I live in South London and am an aspiring blogger/journalist. In this day and age of competition and widespread media, its difficult to get noticed. All I’m asking is that you take a chance, so that I can be one step closer, to becoming a success like them. I may be naive in some ways, but I have a long way to go, and have an interesting, unconventional set of ideas. Please check me out on my channel and if you like, check out the links given.

  • Press is death !!!!! The news are death !!!! Open yours eyes !!!!

  • It was actually really interesting, i enjoyed it.

  • Truly a Riveting film!

  • I think I'm going to go see this today. I'm compelled enough to believe it's more substantive than the other options in the theaters right now, but I'm mostly on the fence about the message. Obviously media itself is bigger than ever and will continue to grow, but the NYT argument is that we need professional journalists, in a nutshell. Maybe. Maybe not. I think they have historically been a force for democracy, but there are issues where I think they lacked sufficient accountability too.

  • The New York Times doesn't have to die...the only thing that is going to die is the medium in which the news is being delivered...paper is going digital, good for the planet, for the readers and for the journalists.

  • @Vladimir0538 Actually that is not entirely so. I am a student journalist and have been so four five years now. Trust me, the move from paper to digital has not and will not be easy for any journalist out there. This film is about how our career is dying, and how thousands of journalists could be out of jobs if we cannot find a way to keep this business alive. As for The Times, they very much so could go out of business as soon as the next couple of years.

  • is that clint mansell's track at the end?

  • interesting indeed ... However, they should have called it: The End of Page One!

  • What was the name of the song in the closing credits ?

  • AWESOME movie. Education, oowwwww... I see a lot of users are running scared of relevant, academic, and modern thinking.

  • New York Times makes a movie to make themselves APPEAR relevant....they're not. NYT is a barf bag.

  • I watched it today, I really liked it. Sadly In South Florida we have the same sorry situation with the printed media. I hope that professional journalism survives the move or partial transrftormation into the Digital era.

  • 2:14 That guy's voice is gross

  • whats the name of the song at the beginging

  • I agree The New York Times has a tremendous history and a great track record of accomplishments behind them that deserves honor and respect, but so did the Mayans before they disappeared in 900 A.D.

  • beck, hannity and bill bill prob took turns disliking this trailer

  • there should be 200,000,000 views for this... every adult in America. But some are too busy watchin Jersey Shore fights, and kids blowin up mailboxes on youtube. :^( PLEASE HELP KEEP PAPER JOURNALISM ALIVE!!

  • This looks like a good film. going to see it

  • this movie isn't stupid or boring, ****** or 'gay' (which it can't be anyway because a movie isn't a gender). It's extremely interesting and anyone who thinks otherwise is just plain stupid and is lazy and doesn't care about anything happening to our society. It's actually kind of a big deal that a huge newspaper buisness like New York Times, is running out of buisness

  • I don't know what you gays are complaining about. It actually looks like an intriguing film.

  • @Nazeer93 I totally agree with you. Only I take life very seriously, and so think you shouldn't be using the term "gay" as an insult.

  • @GOLDSHINE2 OMG..... I meant to say guy! fuck... My bad!!!

DID NOT MEAN TO INSULT OR HURT ANYONE WITH THAT COMMENT! SORRY GUUUUUYS! <---WITH A U

  • What a shit looking movie

  • Whether the Times is a newspaper or digital or whatever, journalism is a cornerstone of democracy. The problem with the internet as a news source is the ability to plant stories without attribution. We need people, journalists, who are willing to stand up and say, "yes, this is the story and I stand behind it." If that goes away, public relations and ideology will be selling us ideas produced to further someone or some organizations political or for-profit agenda. I can't wait to see this film.

  • @porterchas I agree with you whole hearted. However it is not newspapers going out of business but rather a growing population of citizens distracted either by trivialities or ruthless politicians who manipulate the media to non effect. Educated your population and they will demand a journalistic approach that investigates.

Perhaps the wall street sitin are a indication of that happening.

  • @porterchas The NY Times stopped being a reputable news source a very long time ago. Democracy is dying and they've played a part in that. If it goes away, good riddance.

  • why does every scene zoom out, trying to make action or interest when there is none. pretty boring looking

  • dude that guys stomach is so weird

  • they must be in hard times if they are now making movies to turn a profit lololol

  • I get more information from TV Networks and the Internet, I don't know much about Journalism but I know enough that only older people read the Newspaper, or at least the majority do.

  • I dunno why but I actually find this movie kinda interesting

  • people who dislikes this trailer doesn't read newspaper, doesn't care about the news and current affairs.

  • The 96 people who disliked this trailer CAN'T READ!

  • Look on the brightside, no newspapers = less trees cut down, am i right? People have to accept, the internet is the new way for media to be passed around. Through the internet, I found out Osama Bin Laden had died, less than 2 hours (give or take) after it happened, when it would take newspapers a day or two to get it out. Sure its sad and all, but times changed, nothing ever stays. Its time to wake up and get with the time, newspapers are just, dead, and a waste of trees.

  • No truth, no readers, you cheap opinion bitches! More & more people are fed up with your blatant Israeli & corporate propaganda pseudo-news!

    Corbettreport FTW!!!

  • I wouldn't even line the bottom of my bird's cage with that god awful paper!

  • I think it looks great. Haters gonna hate !

  • this kinda looks .... shit

  • I don't know why people are saying this is boring. I find it meaningful and sad when they mentioned about newspapers dying out and the new media is taking over.

  • Suspenseful music is pretty unnecessary since it's a documentary...

  • I would actually see this movie, not in the cinema but if it was on TV I would see it. Although I doubt this movie will ever air on Belgian Television.

  • poor

  • bo-ring!

  • fuck the times. wikileaks twitter ftw

  • Who would watch this?

  • NY Times suck! they make bad reviews in rotten tomatoes.!!!

  • sorry, this won't make NY Times anymore popular.

  • Just so you know, Wikileaks gave that video to major Media outlets long before they released it themselves, I think it was CNN who had the video in their possession for six months, and wouldn't release it. So Assange released it on his own.

  • you see...we need new movie ideas otherwise they are going to end up making a movie about Tesco...or Wal-Mart

  • Pretty ironic that I found out about this movie through YouTube

  • oh no something worst than the justin bieber movie

  • Its the office- without the jokes :/

  • FAkE AND GAY!!

  • Looks interresting. I love stories about big boobs fairies, chocolate mountains and pirates ships.....oh wait shit that's the dream I made when I fell asleep on that trailer.

  • what a SHIT idea.

  • it doesnt take a genious to realize all they needed to do was make an online site for news. U have to grow with the 'times' or get left behind!

  • This could have been good but it just looks extremely poorly executed.

  • worst movie idea ever

  • @MrLogitube

    - A little.. But, I get over it XD

  • looks like sh*t

  • @MrLogitube DONE! :P

  • I think this would be of interest to anyone concerned with modern journalism and the role of print in today's media.

  • @sachaput I agree. I, for one, would like to see this film so I can get a glimpse of what it's like in modern journalism.

  • fake n gay n old

  • @MrLogitube

-If it isn't thrown out of the window, lying on the ground dying or.. something.. I will personally walk out of my room, go outside and jump on it, hoping it will break! ;D

  • Just because there's no explosions doesn't make it boring. People might actually learn something.

  • gay

  • Only educated people are going to watch this. I love it

  • a film about the most boring paper around = boring film

  • boring

  • this movie is a documentary, its purpose is to inform and not entertain. if youre a middle schooler, yes this is boring to you but however im a guy in college and i see this movie being played a lot in classrooms to teach how times can change and ultimatly make something vanish.

  • Is this documentary any good >> 2:21

  • page shit

  • shit! what the fuck is wrong with everyone! I think this is interesting. Don't you want to know how The most famous journal in the world works or how they do it, and they mentioned the dying of the "old" newspaper because everything is online now. I probably will watch this.

  • this is very interesting unlike some might say but if you guys watch interesting movies and not always the same war and fantasy and all that shit this movie is very good

  • ...Carlos Slim is the biggest shareholder. doubt their going out of business

  • I dont know why i should watch the film.

  • @MegaBaier don't worry. it's totally normal

  • That was 2:33 minutes of my life thrown out of the window..

  • This movie is dying just like its paper.

  • Little bitches who can't appreciate a documentary.

  • SO MUCH BORING!.

  • I love documentaries this actually looks great. New York Times is legend in the news media.

  • I feel bad for them when they see all these negative feedback they're getting.. Although this movie doesn't look like it's going to be epic..

  • I can't waiT!!!

  • that looks sooooooooooooo boring

  • bleh

  • the social network wannabe

  • why does that guy have a tiny head and a fat shit of a body.

  • very shitty trailer.... no one's gonna watch the movie

  • @scratchneck So how exactly was that shitty? Maybe you just aren't interested.

  • @ncodyn it's really shitty, no questions asked, you can't deny that statement, it is a fact, don't try and act smart, it don't fit the image you quasi-intellectual fuck-ups try to display every moment of your pathetic little lives

  • @ncodyn That didn't answer any questions. As I hope to make a career as a journalist, this looks interesting to me. It's a fine trailer. You just aren't interested. Enjoy Zookeeper.

  • @ncodyn BAM. thank you!

  • hi. how are you?

  • hopefully if i flip the page, there's no page 2

  • gay. boring.
