  • grace is gracie slick.

i first heard cjfish in '67, while visiting chrissy ten in berkeley. she had astereo and put this on. it was liberating. i went on to collect some 200 vinyl records of the san francisco sound, and am still at it: i found "rainy day in june" by stoneground the other day. i saw cj once, and he played section 43 so loud and piercing that my hearing never recovered.

the sumer of love turned into the winter of meth and smack, and political repression, still ongoing.

  • Fantastic! Hippie love forever!!!!

  • Pure LSD inspired Psychedelic Acid Rock.

  • Saw them for the first time at the Jabberwock Cafe, late August 66. Great Band.

  • CJ/Fish were so fecking creative. I sure wish they'd reunite for a summer tour some year. Must be some bad blood?

  • Starting me smoking,my cousin got this album, when it first came out-mid sixties,SF,sophomores in high school. Hated by the system,Country Joe is the most underrated genius of this time. He was at a Cesar Chavez labor union rally for free at city hall in San Fran a few years ago,and those titans of freedom, the Mexicans, mustered maybe 100 people. This is a smart guy, living with Janis in Berkeley, and his music takes you to distant spheres. Keep up the good work, leader. He's from LA,tho.

  • I remember when I bought this album when I moved to Scottsdale, Arizona from Long Island in 1979 I was 18 at the time, very mind blowing at the time when I first heard it, probably very mind blowing compared to today talentless musicians. I moved back to Long Island in 1980.This album I still have in a crate in my closet.

  • I was in Fla. and bought Electric Music For The Mind and Body, the week it came out and never looked back. Barry Melton and Chicken Hirsh forever

  • psychedelic gem. ive had many nice trips with this song already even though i was born like 15 years aften this song was released.

  • Thank you. There are many LOST gems from the beginning of the 60's. This song was everywhere on Haight St.
