  • FUCK YOU OP

  • This documentary is just a bunch of rich Jews whining because they can't whore themselves out.

  • @golfguymdg no you douchebags who made music all about money are ruining music. Fuck the industry, tours/merchandise alone can sustain bands' incomes. The notion of paying to listen to something is one of the stupidest things I've heard.

  • I guess that music simply didn't exist before the CD, vinyl and radio. The musicians of today are the lucky beneficiaries of technology but take that fact for granted, whilst behaving like Luddites towards technology that negatively affects their economic exploitation of art.

  • @SpacePlaice Exactly! Well said.

  • pretty onesided point of view documentary. and that piano music underlining that poor artists in their wealthy chairs, talking about things they don't understand, makes me wanna throw up. why is it, that only old men talk bad about piracy here? they are totally out of time, and whining about something they don't understand. like comparing pirated downloads with physically bought cds - which is just plain stupid. people wouldn't buy the things they pirate in the first place.

  • @6egal6 Exactly. The guy who speaks about him being cheated for his platinum is totally off, half of those 500.000 people who downloaded his tune wouldn't have bought it anyways, but just downloaded it because it was free.

  • I hate to do it because I love music but I have no money D:

  • @golfguymdg death to the industry

  • ALL HAIL WAREZ

  • There's Only 1 way to fix this problem; Turn on that DAM money machine!

  • Excellent documentary, I have to do one for my media diploma, as it happens it's also about piracy, I was wondering what equipment you used ? and any other tips would be greatly appreciated

  • @SeanyVTV Well Thank you! As far as equipment goes we used a Canon HV30 paired with an Audio Technica shotugn mic - not sure of the model. If I had the chance to do it all over again I would make sure to make the video more contemporary. Quicker cuts, less shots of people talking and more fun graphics. Remember, people already know in the back of their heads that pirating is bad, but why stop when everyones doing it? Don't bore people and certainly don't make people feel bad... Good Luck!

  • This is laughable. As opposed to adapting to a new medium, it is being blamed for hurting the things that it renders obsolete.

The middlemen are being cut out because their position is no longer needed, so they blame the innovation and try to outlaw it.

Piracy isn't what is hurting people in the industry. The industry was already abusing and exploiting them.

  • This has ruined music, rock music especially. I don't think people understand that everything a band did used to get paid for buy album sales. I label would up front pay for studio time, gear, promotion, development, legal, then would pay for touring(vehicle, crew, gear, managers, merch, EVERYTHING). The only way they would re-coop this is from sales. 99% of bands on a label can't tour and can't support themselves with sales and are broke and disappear.

  • @schlagdog They have disappeared just like the record labels who have also went under. I guess if you don't love music piracy means nothing. The kid that said "musicians already have million and milions of dollars" makes me sick. Most non headlining bands end up making less money than most of the people watching this video.

  • I sometimes compose music. I don't care if someone downloads it. I am honored, instead.

But then again, I am not a full time musician.

I DL music, which I can't get anywhere. If I can't buy it, I download it. There was this CD that was sold at Tokyo for two days only, and before I knew about the band. I do not have a time machine, but found a mp3 on the internet. Oh my god I'm such a thief.

  • Hm... Ohai, blatant propaganda. Why are you calling yourself a documentary? Don't be silly, I can tell it's you.

  • These people are missing the BIG point. The biggest reason people pirate is because they have better things to spend the money on. If they couldn't pirate the song they just wouldn't have it. They are right it dose become habit, people don't see it as a crime, they are comfortable with it, but that one BIG point always remains the same. If you really want to support a favorite band go buy their merchandise. The record companies don't get a cut of that.

  • Shouldn't music be an art form and not have a price on it? As long as people enjoy listening to it, the quote "Artists" should be happy.

  • @coolsunglassesbrah And how can artists be happy when there art is getting stolen from them?

  • @coolsunglassesbrah Who ever said it's stolen art? It's not as if someone is out there selling it as their work of art.

  • Not a bad documentary but the sound quality could have been better though.

  • @ChadHryhorysak Thanks

  • Capitalist pigs.

  • @TheWargasmic There's just trying to make a living with their music.

  • Where can I pirate the lovely piano song at 7:06 ?

    Kidding.

    Good video, thanks!

  • @metrOjedi HA!

    Thanks for the comment...

  • its a blessing. all the shit music on the radio the past decades doesnt deserve pay. what is happening now is independent record labels are coming up selling records and merc because they actually make good music. the big-fishes are dying a slow deserving death.

    also

its well known that people who pirate are the ones buying most music, by very very far.
