  • ummm...are we sure that's Leslie? ...singing like that :-/...idk, I think that's the wrong person. BTW loooooved him back in the day! sorry guys.

  • whether or not this performance does them justice, you judge an artist by his or her best. these are two of the greatest voices in the history of soul.

  • Two legends gettin' funky wit it. The band was also slammin'.

  • THIS IS TERRIBLE! IT ONLY GIVES THE IMPRESSION THAT LESLIE JUST AINT GOT IT ANYMORE, BUT HEY MAYBE ITS JUST THE WRONG FOOTAGE AND NOT THE WHOLE PERFORMANCE. BUT ILL TELL YOU THIS MUCH THAT SCREEMING IS NOT WHAT NEWBIRTH WAS ABOUT BACK IN THE DAY.

  • @regvision Chill out! that's your opinion. Leslie sounded good on this and on everything he did that nite.

And that "screeming" as you put it, was part of his trademark! BTW he was in the audience and was called on stage by ollie, this was not stagged. My opinion, he sounded GREAT!

  • @Jerky101 well! let us hear some of the other stuff he did that nite then, because the way he sounded i dont think he had much more to give.

  • @regvision I'm jus saying over ten, count em, 1. 2, 3, 4, 5 n 5 10 can't be wrong and they didn't hear what you heard. Jus sayin.

  • @Jerky101 thanks for defending leslie wilson even tho he doesnt need it HE'S GREAT and i just thought id throw a lil negative out there so i could actually feel the feedback from all of his true diehard fans (actually ME being among his biggest) i would still love to hear some of his other stuff he did that nite and i still dont think he was at his best but like you said it wasnt staged

  • @Jerky101 I wanted to thank you again for this video. I love it! It picks up my spirits--I watch it often. I do wish there was more!

  • @Jerky101 I want to thank you, again. I love this video with Ali and Leslie--it picks up my spirits! If I had a complaint (and I don't) it would be that the video is just too short!! I thank you for sharing. Best Wishes.

  • Great Duet. Really enjoyed it. Also got a chuckle when Ollie turns to someone in the audience and says"Where'd she go?" He seemed distracted for a moment or so, and appeared to be looking in the audience for someone, but got back in the groove as only a consummate professional like him would do. Thanks for the video.

  • Two of the best that ever did it! That drummer and bass player are insane!!!

  • @mrsoulsang OYES!! Brandon Brown from NuJynisis on that mighty mighty bass!! Brandon's brother Stanley holding down the beat on drums.

  • Look - a - Here yall....Leslie is the best....I don't know why he isn't still making new hits... I think he should do a collabo with The Dream or Neyo.

  • I really hear a strong James Brown flavor when Leslie Wilson sings also...What a talent!!!

  • Somethin sweet as a candy bar...wow, Leslie Wilson and Ollie Woodson singin together...oooooooohhhhhh, AAAahhhhhh, can understand thaaaaat!!!!...

    Fantastic Duet...

But time does a number on us all, I guess.

  • I just found out earlier today of Mr. Ollie Woodson's demise. And all I could think was: "Daggit, I loved him. He will surely be missed by me!!!" Rest In Peace, Mr. Woodson. Your vocal stylings were TRULY one of a kind. I will always love you, baby.

  • LES WILSON AND OLLIE WOODSON!!!!! Goodness, I thought this would never happen. These are REAL singers!!!! UNDERSTAND?

  • i was just about to ask who that was on the bass! Memphis magic on this one, i knew it! get it NuJynisis, I been a fan of y'all since I saw some of y'all in sound fuzion! I have been in love with new birth for a long azz time! y'all getting to play with some of my favorite folks. Stevie W and Leslie Wilson, wow, I can't wait to shake y'all hand again.

  • Hell, I had the pleasure of tighting Stanley's drums at Ralph Sutton's studio when I interned, and I was excited then...lol I know talent when I see it!

  • doing Bobby Womack, the songwiter, proud

  • so Leslie was the Lead and Drummer....yeah....he was stellar in both talents

  • Leslie Wilson was the lead singer on the New Birth recording of "I Can Understand It." Robin Russell was the drummer. ;)

  • This here is classic. Two power house singers. it can't get any better than this.

  • I had the pleasure, of working with Leslie and his wife, at that time Barbara. With James Baker my co-producer, anyway Leslie came in, did a scratch vocal warming up, and laid the track on the second take. A professional for sure!

  • Thanx man!!That was me Brandon Brown from NuJynisis!!And my brother Stanley is on drums. Will Wesson and Kenneth "KT"Townsend on keys and Kyle Bolden on lead!!

  • Two of the baddest cats to ever sing! "Treat her like a lady and "I can understand it" I would pay good money to see these two guys together. Who is playing bass on this? Damn!!!!

  • Lesley lead singer from New Birth one of the baddest band from the 70's and the group's drummer Damm that kid was BADDDD

I forget the name of the bass player.

    I'll find out for ya.

What can you say about Ali??

  • Brandon Brown from NuJynisis on that mighty mighty bass!! Brandon's brother Stanley is on drums. Will Wesson and Kenneth "KT" Townsend on keys and Kyle Bolden on lead!!

You got to have a terrific group of musicians also a great cast of singers to make a performance this GOOD!

  • @Jerky101 wow, he looks so different....i just looked at the soul train video...
