  • nah i think those can be machined and go for a little while longer. lol how do you not notice something that bad. and i suppose the people said "i just heard the noise yesterday on my way to work"

  • Cha Ching!!!!!!

  • this happened to me ! it got to the point where there was always drag on the car ,than i lost all the brake fluid so i had to use the handbrake to stop on the way home ,the pistons popped on both front tires lol.

  • those were probably OEM discs on a 130k mile car. :P

  • i have been working on cars for 5 years and i have never seen anything like that

  • That was awesome-inspiring! I love seeing how wacky vehicle owners get. Thanks for posting!

  • I have seen this one before, her complaint "the brake light is on"

  • HAHA!... iv always wondered if anyone has gone this far on their discs!!

    Thats hilarious!

  • Dang, and I thought there being a lip on the edge of a brake rotor was bad! How many miles did those suckers have on them?!

  • Whoever owned that thing definitely got their money's worth out of it

  • @starguard lol

  • good lord

  • Dammm

.. how old was the car

  • ROFL. Holy shit that's funny.

  • is that my sisters car?

  • That's mildly impressive.

  • Machine the vents off and you could use it as a back rotor! hahaha

  • Well theres your problem lol

  • WOW!

  • From 60 to 0 in ten minutes! don't forget to drag your feet....

  • @SPAGHETTIMONSTER1 yup! haha, open the door and start dragging. use your boots to stop...

  • I had one of my friends have the same thing happen to his 02 malibu. But, not only did the pressure side rub down to the vent. It also seperated the outer disk from the main housing.

  • Meh, shave a couple thousandths off on the lathe and send him on his way.

  • HOLY SHIT!!! :O

  • this is a perfect reason as to why cars should not fly. considering idiots like these can maintain a car on the road, lets not even thing about flying

  • I wonder what percentage of car accidents on the road are a result of neglect like this?

I was driving home from work last week following an EMS/Fire truck with a dual wheels on the rear axle and the dual wheels came off the driver side.. axle and all, and he kept driving... the wheels were stickin out about afoot and a half and I slammed on my brakes.... and seconds later the whole frikn thing went flying into the air and bouncing down the road in front of him, hitting other cars.

  • Either a woman or asian driver. Guaran-fucking-tee it.

  • Think thats bad we had a guy come into the shop with the drivers rear rotor almost wore THROUGH THE FINS!

  • woooow i dident even think you could stop

  • ive seen this before too, on a brand new Ford e250 lol whole front side was just fins it was hilarious to me lol

  • common these current brake systems on cars are a piece of shit, why can't we just get magnet based braking systems? you would only have to repair them for rust.

  • And that is why women should be banned from owning cars

  • seen that before lol

  • What the f****, that expedition was driven by a lady driver....

  • hahahahahahahahahahahaha, a bit of simple maintenance would save a massive bill!

turns a $200 or less job into triple that easily. lining other peoples pockets? why not.

  • Come on now man, don't you know thats just my slotted rotor? They're all the rage now!! *sarcasm*

  • as long as he didnt run out of piston he would be fine oh and common missconecption is that you cant drive with one lug nut, i did it for a year

  • meh somtimes brakes are a pain. my moms 97 chevy malibu has bad front calipers. they stick on and i have to replace pads every 3 months and rotors every 6. my dad doesnt want to fix it. its been 5 months since last pads i wont be suprised to see that when i get in there. recently they have gotten MUCH louder

  • 20$ bucks sez it was a chick driver!!! but wow that is insane....

  • So that's what those vents look like.

  • some people are so damn stupid.... ive seen things like this many times. but whatever its more money for my pocket lol

  • its a new design cools bettter under load!

  • just needs resurfaced

  • well...one side looks good lol

  • i bet it was a female owner/driver!

  • it still has some life on those rotors!

  • That'll buff right out...

  • just throw some pads on, she'll be fine

  • ouch

  • haha thats awesome

  • I bought a truck and pulled into the shop to go through it before i drove it. Someone had put brand new bake pads on a rotor just like that. Some people

  • That rotor belongs on a 'wall of shame'

  • Let me guess he claimed they just started making noise yesterday. LOL

  • @HunterCO1 You've heard that one before too?

  • @roadragecustoms dont you mean she claimed they just started making noise.

  • @roadragecustoms i have too, its funny, its like they are gonna get in trouble or yelled at by you if they tell you the truth, like its your car not theirs...

  • @roadragecustoms "Oh, I'm planning on selling it so I just want it to work, I don't want to put any money into it." Everyone wants a $50 brake job, but nobody has shopped for parts to see that we just can't pull that off.

  • @roadragecustoms where the front wheels black? with brake dust

  • @HunterCO1 LoL

  • i have seen a rotor come off a chev malibu like that not long ago

  • Got his money's worth!

  • who the hell would ride it down that much

  • You just KNOW it was a woman!

  • i done this before. it make a really bad rumble sound when your on the brakes

  • Uneven wear like that suggests there were problems with the pins that the brake calipers ride on, probably a lack of lubrication. The driver couldn't possibly be unaware of "unusual operation". Only if they were deaf, maybe. They would still feel it in the brake pedal. This driver is simply cavalier about obvious danger to themselves and others.

  • Well...it is a ford-

  • @nastrus456 Nah, this has nothing to do with the brand of vehicle, just the brand of idiot driving it.

  • @nastrus456 Yeah explains why the brakes were worn down that bad eh? You are one smart cookie.

  • Iike it when they say "it just started making that noise yesterday" sure buddy

  • it blows my mind how bad of shape a vehicle can be in and still drive.

  • I seen something like this before on an Oldsmobile Silhouette. At first I thought it was a piece out of a torque converter.

  • wow!

  • Pretty sure thats still within spec and you can still turn them lol

  • That's nothing! My daughter wore the rotor out so bad that the disk separated from he hub. She was wondering why the car pulled when she hit the brakes. LOL

  • nahh thats just one of them new high output slotted rotors guaranteed to remove excess gas and heat or your money back

  • I read somewhere of people using homemade pads made of metal brackets cut to shape.

  • Crack addicts and cars just dont mix.

  • I bet that SUV stopped on a dime lol Ultimate brakeing power.

  • how did it stop? very slowly!

  • @jkltg60 I had to use the parking brake to stop when I was pulling it inside the shop.

  • it must've been a blonde that was driving or an absolute cheapskate (tight fisted wiuth their money)???

  • wow unbelivable

  • let them ride in BUS only.

  • Cheap basters.

They are going to kill some one.

  • Yikes, you don't suppose it was his wifes car? Just keep driving it until the vehicle does not roll anymore, then replace the rotors, calipers, pads, etc.

  • @K5H13760 a poor man with such wife shuold thrwe here in the rever.

  • Wow..... wtf

  • I guess his brake pad indicator tab wasn't loud enough :-p

  • Hoooooooly cow.

  • I've seen badly grooved or partly cracked rotors, but this is a first. Sort of unexplainable, since automotive brakes are not overly mysterious components, they give plenty of warnings that they need attention, well before anything like this happens.

  • probably an ugly ass bimbo with like 10 kids was driving that.

  • a friends daughter brought her suburban to me with the same problem, think its expensive to replace brake pads, neglect changing them and the problem only gets worse

  • one time there was two girls in a dodge neon and the engine was smoking and they had 3 flat tires and they didnt know what was wrong. They just kept driving.

  • Just turn the rotor and they'll be good-to-go!

  • @1PossumJenkins It wont fit

  • some people should just not own vehicles, but then again people like this makes the mechanics happy, creates business, go idiot costumers!

  • @cvmiata I don't work at that shop anymore. I heard the other day that the same guy came back in with the same vehicle, and his rear brakes were worn metal to metal. He declined the rear brake job and drove away!

  • @roadragecustoms

Christ. Some people are dumb as a rock. I've replaced numerous metal to metal brakes myself. I've never seen a rotor worn down to the vanes.

  • @roadragecustoms the guy must've been a complete and utter idiot and doesn't he/she know to take the handbrake off b4 drving??? lol

  • @roadragecustoms I love when customers decline work that they desperately need like that lol. Such a safety risk for the rest of us

  • @cvmiata the guy must've been a complete and utter idiot and doesn't he/she know to take the handbrake off b4 drving??? lol

  • @s00ther this is the front brake, the "handbrake" is only connected to the rear brakes.

  • @s00ther Parking brake is on the rear. This was on the front & caused by driving & driving & driving looooong after the pads were worn out. This doesn't mean the driver isn't "a complete and utter idiot".

  • @roadragecustoms Yes it does

  • probably a woman driver

  • .....or maybe a dumbass kid from 1977,,,,,,,

  • god damn..... lol

  • been there, but mine was worse! 190.oo bucks at autozone for rear rotor, breaks and caliper, and the hardware of course. first time ever and last. check your brakes peeps.

  • The sad part is the owner of this truck probably votes.

  • If they turn their super stereos down once in a while they would know there is some kind of problem down below.

  • It doesn't cost that much for a set of pads, some hardware and some grease. Even rotors aren't that bad, but those calipers look expensive, not to mention lives and sheet metal. This a negligent homicide trial waiting to happen.

  • Is that what you cal a breaking failure or what.... How can you even drive it that far? Kind'a stupid :o)

  • I'd have to say..... its STILL good. The fellow could have got a few hundred more miles.

  • wow thats just harsh!but I see boats run to near death as well.and "they never hit the red line ever" hahahaha

  • man that is insane... luckly for them they didn't get into a wreck

  • holy crap people dont look to see whats going once an a while or have the oil change guys do it

  • How many signs of brake problems did this guy need???..First-noise..2nd-noise!!..3rd-low pedal-noise!!!...4th-No pedal-Noise-Dash light "BRAKE"-No Brakes!!!!...I just don't get it-I've actually seen this too many times...Just don't get it.

  • wow that is incredible, I can't believe how people do that. I just recently helped out a friend by doing his brakes. He wore down his pads to the backing so the rotors were damaged. Good thing he didn't wait as long as this guy.

  • Man I can't believe you change those rotors, there's still a lot of vent life left in them!

  • holy crap they were still driving that like that. wow.

  • And I bet they told you "it just started making noise", lol.

  • @hearsemonkey They always do!

  • @hearsemonkey lol

  • WOW! ive seen em wear down the rotors, and break the breaking surface, and have it dangle, but i have ever seen it desroy a caliper like that, and shred it! wow.

people need to realize not to neglect their vehicles!

  • siezed calipers cause that.

  • @Smoott69 if thats the case then thats even more pathetic that they would keep driving it when its pulling in a direction every time they brake! unbelievable!
