@wowdino It's a variable that you have to account for. If you put the Stig in the ZR-1 and then I put your fat ass in the GT-R. Then you're going to be come back to me saying "ha ha....ZR-1 is fast. America is great. America is #1." &vice versa. Why do you think Top Gear even HAS a stig. And a power lap time? The idea is that it's suppose 2 be the same across the board. Obviously, it can't be 100% perfect (well...maybe with a field of Sebastian Vettels, you can), but obviously that's impossible.

@wowdino GT-R is faster. See the second link. (The first link didn't even HAVE the GT-R listed, even those Horst tested it.) GT-R is 6th (tested 2010/11), and the ZR1 is 11th as you've said, tested 2009/10. So there you have it.

Find your Cp, use a mass-stiffness model for your tire deformation (for contact patch area), figure out your max. tractive effort at each of the FE area patches (Coulomb friction model). And with an AWD LCS, large enough contact patch, minimal mass; I'm sure you can hit 0-60 in < 2 sec.

@wowdino It's a variable that you have to account for. If you put the Stig in the ZR-1 and then I put your fat ass in the GT-R. Then you're going to be come back to me saying "ha ha....ZR-1 is fast. America is great. America is #1." &vice versa. Why do you think Top Gear even HAS a stig. And a power lap time? The idea is that it's suppose 2 be the same across the board. Obviously, it can't be 100% perfect (well...maybe with a field of Sebastian Vettels, you can), but obviously that's impossible.

@alpha754293 thats really weird, cause uh top gear has a new stig and what did they do with the power board? nothing, the FXX was with Micheal Schumacher change the board? nope, Tiff Needell at one point was temp stig, and the GT-R is made to be easier to drive then the ZR1 and the Viper doesn't have traction control or anything, GT-R has duel clutch and paddle shifters that change up or down in .2 secs, and im sure nissan got a good driver so they look good, they aren't stupid

@wowdino GT-R is faster. See the second link. (The first link didn't even HAVE the GT-R listed, even those Horst tested it.) GT-R is 6th (tested 2010/11), and the ZR1 is 11th as you've said, tested 2009/10. So there you have it.

And yet, some how, all except the launch control is missing from the ZR1. Hmmm....If you're gonna bitch, put the BW tranny in. Or demand a DC-A/SMT from your local Chevy dealership.

Way to go with the whole full disclosure bit. Whereas the LF-A was using just standard OEM tires and it managed to be 0.17 s behind the Z06. @wowdino because if you're talking about how great America is (#1 and shit, even though it's clearly NOT), and performance cars - I think that there are rumblings about a Shelby Tuatara that's supposed to be able to beat the Veyron's top speed of 267 mph. But I don't think that it's actually done the run yet. Not sure if it's even SOP'd yet. $200k would be to put it up against the European supercars (and finding the American counterparts). Why stop your raving at $100k???

@wowdino why do you even need a van? You're really a soccer mom aren't you??? (vans suck in case you didn't know that. With the exception of the Renault Espace F1 prototype a) just cuz they can, and b) cuz it's a van with a William-Renault 3.5L V10 F1 engine that tops out at 189 mph). Hybridization is a moderate compromise. Even then, it still has it's technical challenges. (If you've ever tried engineering a hybrid, you'd know that too.)

@wowdino Course, you'd know that from your vehicle engineering classes on delivering tractive effort. Find your Cp, use a mass-stiffness model for your tire deformation (for contact patch area), figure out your max. tractive effort at each of the FE area patches (Coulomb friction model). And with an AWD LCS, large enough contact patch, minimal mass; I'm sure you can hit 0-60 in < 2 sec.

@wowdino other reasons why I'd want a Ferrari/Lambo over a ZR1: bulid quality. gap/fit&finish. (have you ever seen how sloppy the ZR1 builds are?) better engineering. Faster shift times. Better NVH/squeek/rattle characteristics. Maybe the 0-100-0 times? *shrug* The fact that unllike GM, they don't cut corners/take shortcuts because of cost? (Try driving it on the "Belgian Blocks" at MPG at 60 mph.)

So what you're telling me is that compared to a Z06, the GT-R with maybe stock tires on semi-wet conditions is 1.54 seconds SLOWER than it? That's IT???
