There's something very interesting, when you look at M.Webber's lap in 2010, you can seen him breaking at 80 meters from the first corner.... Here, M.S breaks at 60 or 50 meters... How do you explain that ? The corners have changed ? Are the breaks less efficient today ? Seems weird ...
@arthusthefirst I suspect the sound is a little out of synch, no way could a 2003 spec car with slick tyres brake so much later than the 2010 Red Bull, particulary given the fact that back then the straight was faster.
@arthusthefirst The only way to tell when he starts breaking is to listen to the engine, which is how you can see he breaks at about 50 meters. If the sound is slightly out of synch, then the sound of him breaking will not be in the right place, obviously.
@MetaKnightsKirby Totally right, sorry... But you can hear the sounds of the bumps when in take the a pecs.... in the very last corner, the sound is a little bit late compare the the video... it indicates if i'm not wrong, that in the first one, he breaks earlier than what we actually see... I don't know... A 2003 car is 2 or 4 sec. faster than the f1 today...
@arthusthefirst It depends on the couse. Most 2010/2011 pole laps are quicker than 2004, but correct for the fact that 2004 cars carried fuel onboard their pace is really simmilar, with 2004 faster in most cases.
Am I the only one who sees more understeer problems than oversteer here?...but maybe I need glasses?! :-)
Especially Campsa and Sabadell (Turn 12) he suffers from understeer!...the car slides over the front wheels and he cannot reach the right apex inside at the curb!
But anyway remember this could be a practice-1 lap, where the car is not setup properly!...or he could be testing for an almost-full tank race strategi!? We dont now!
I though I was going blind, as 2 or 3 replys rambled on about oversteer and nervous rear end?!
Well I saw A LOT of just the opposite!
I guess some kids here dont quite understand the meaning of the words the are bursting out, or maybe they lack the ability to read a cars handling and balance!??
I think he was testing with low downforce, the rearend was quite nasty sometimes, just a routine lap, I think he went for higher downforce in the race, you can´t ride 190 miles like that!
The sweet sound of pistons moving up and down 300 times per second.

@MetaKnightsKirby it's not a question of sound man... just look at the breaking signs...
