are you kidding me, some of you dont want a transparent screen? you could probably use a set of special polarized glasses to encrypt your data, and you could also tell if any one was trying to steal from you in public at a yfi hotspot. you could actually be immersed in both worlds at the same time instead of feeling boxed in by the monitor. AND THE #1 REASON FOR A CLEAR SCREEN, SET UP YOU COMPUTER IN FRONT OF A WINDOW AND SEE NATURE OR A STORMY SKY OR EVEN STARS AT NIGHT.

Transparent screens can be used to create Augmented Reality much easier. Now it is only a screen, which is not that handy, but imagine a transparent tablet. Just point the tablet at an object and the tablet will highlight the object, give information about the object, etc. That is probably where this is going.

There are a few uses for these, someone mentioned tablet PC's, I can see folks who like Pencil and paper art to use the monitor to 'ink' straight to Photoshop from the paper, or digitize building plans... Smart windshields for cars, better NORMAL screens, the list might go on, I dunno.
