@BenTheodore16 I personally didn't get the impression that it was his mother. I thought she was a teacher. Notice all the other kids dressed in the same garb, like school uniforms. And the way she acts with the two standing next to her. I always thought it was a teacher, and he was singing to her telling her how he felt about her. Hence the expressions on her face and the way she nervously clutched at her sweater.
