  • one of the purest voices there is, and the talent behind it makes it formidable!

  • I am always amazed, sadly i can't tell the difference from her voice and all the auto tone they are doing some of these other artist.

  • this is a really different sound...and ya know, I don't hate it :)

  • Wow this a different style! At first I was like no, this isnt her then she sang and I'm like, "Oh yup thats her!"

  • omg i love all of Imogen Heap's songs there amazing and veryy butiful! everyone tells a differnt story or something that happend! this IS real music you only find it by Imogen Heap!!!! :))

  • Imogen Heap is one of the few amazing artists that can actully sing she sends a message in her songs that we can follow or understand what shes pointing out its a relief to listen to real music again

  • I was pretty sure at the start I was going to see the Tardis phase in.

  • Immi's a mind-reader, I swear. She's got a song for almost all of my moods, and hasn't failed to disappoint with that voice of hers. (Beautiful.)

  • @XxXBloodyxRosesXx Ditto! :D Sometimes the lyrics match my thoughts exactly.

  • B) dia ☼

  • I love the piano in this

  • LOL at the end shes like "is that it?? hello??"

  • i love the song!! its sorta jazzy tho but i still love it!!!!

  • music is something you dont just listen to or observe its something you experiance feel, absorb, ect. its more than just sound and ryhme scheme, its personal, something the person who wrote it can call a pieces of their hearts thoughts and feelings themselves essentially transposed on paper in the form of lyrics and composed into an audible sound, music is its own thing,it CANNOT be classified as a solid or a liquid or a gas,it can only be classified as music and nothing more and nothing less

  • @kghsbassboy Deep.

  • @cheer4giants thats what i was goin' for yep...it sure was, glad you think so!

  • @kghsbassboy Right on target (:

  • @cheer4giants yay! what do i win?

  • @kghsbassboy You don't get a discount for agreeing with me!

(this will only make sense if you watch TV regularly)

  • @cheer4giants indeed....indeed,but.....what do i win? XD TELL MEH!

  • @kghsbassboy Virtual kudos! *kudos* enjoy!! :D

  • @cheer4giants yay i feel special because im the only one i know personally thats ever received the highly coveted "virtual kudos" thingy? well....its possible that its highly coveted but i dont know for sure really but anyway i guess its a quite prestigious thing yes?

  • @kghsbassboy Yes. Only the highest of the highest receive such a reward as this. You should feel proud of yourself, man!

  • @cheer4giants yay! lets have a party that will have a shmor-gus-borg consisting of only orange flavored celebratory tic tac mints then!

  • @kghsbassboy Totally (;

  • @kghsbassboy YES!

  • ok to piasame t mnm

  • Where did you get the picture?

  • yea this is her alright! omg i love her voice and her music :)

  • Umm... Are you sure this is Imogen? :/

  • @Riku4everlove Yes, it's on her EP 'Getting Scared' from 1997. Her voice was harsher then. Check out her other songs from the same period, like 'Rake It In'.

  • @Riku4everlove It's one of her first songs of an old album called Getting Scared, think it came out mid to late 90's.

  • what album is this song on and where do I find it, I understood it to be on the single "getting scared" album but I can't find it anywhere HELP!?

  • *clicks the 'like' button*

  • is this the origanl or is rolling stones?

  • I loooove the iMegaphone area... ^^

  • whooo hooo----so funky!

  • I still think this song should have been on the I Megaohone CD!!!

  • She sounds just a tiny bit like Tegan Quin (form the earlier T&S albums)

    Anyone agree?

  • this song would have gone perfectly with her CD "I Megaphone". She should have put this song on it, I wonder why she didn't....

  • @INF3darkgreen Because "I-Megaphone" was released in 1998 silly. :D

  • @kartman415 lets say im really stupid and was confused by your comment. i honestly dont know when everything was released (im not a bad immi fan, really! please dont kill me!) so im just making stupid comments without knowing the facts. sorry.

  • i for one like it imagine this dudes face when he heard this oh man wish i saw it besides with the reasons he had for pissing her off he's probably like shite

  • i totally feel like this to this one guy i know, i love it, i want to say this to this guy

  • Yeahh, I like her other songs better. =T

  • sounds kinda stevie wonderish

  • i cant find this on itunes anywhere!!! its so rare i cant buy it! im so mad! ack!!!

  • um um i like her new album better

  • AGREED

  • i love the hello part at the end lol

  • Where did you get this?

  • GREAT BREAKBEAT!!!! 5+

  • this is a beautiful picture. is it from an album?

  • I'd like to know how the Sigsworth/Heap writing duties were divvied up in Frou Frou

  • Sigsworth and Heap are credited with co-writing music on all the tracks on Details (sometimes with other writers). Guy wrote the lyrics to 3 songs, Immi wrote the lyrics to 3 others, and they co-wrote lyrics for the rest (except Maddening Shroud, with lyrics by Nilere).

  • This is the first time ive ever heard this song from her so weird

  • i love the end, she's says hello and then i said hello, did anyone catch that?

  • i did but i dont think anyone else did

  • i think its "hello? i said hello?"

  • @Poetatoe oh yeah i got that at the very end, yeah i'm confused a bit on what it was about but i liked it

  • @hansee156 me too

  • @Poetatoe did u also get that at the end when she goes i dont idont idont like you she sounds like princess peach its not bad or anything

  • @hansee156 Yes, that's the part i like to do around my friends that i don't want to be

  • @Poetatoe I thought the song had ended and jumped when she said that! Made me jump!

  • I really love this song. I just don't get why so many Imogen-newbies are irked by this song. It's like iMegaphone is a whole new world to them. Ugh, do they even give a damn about her originals?

This is just just generally speaking, though, because, it may as well be just personal preference.

  • Ugh, I'm sleepy, so don't blame me if my comment is so confuddelizzisythm...confuseable...ism. UGH. Whatever, go Immi!!!

  • lol

  • I can understand where you are coming from. Most people don't know just how extensive her musical library is. Many don't even connect her and Guy Sigsworth together ad the Frou Frou duo. It really saddens me how littlle they really know.

  • being a newbie myself, which songs are her originals?

  • these are her origanls. this one, useless, whatever, ect. are the new ones. Elipse (the album) Hide and Seek, Headlock are the newer ones

  • is that really imogen ???

  • Who else would it be? Of course it's Im. Her voice is so beautiful and unique that you would think you'd be able to tell her from anyone, right?

  • interesteng

  • reminds me of alanis morissette

  • in a bad way.

    needs more

  • S'funny but I thought exactly that the other day whilst listening ti 'I-Megaphone'!

  • Imogen has stated that she used to put a bit of american twang to her singing and after some time came to dislike it. So she tries to sing the way she speaks which is what she does now. She still says she watched herself if she does it again. It was just a bad habit.

  • Thank you for that info! I never knew that!

  • immi kicks major ASS!!!!

  • Does anyone else think her old stuff sounds a bit like Alanis Morissette?

  • nooo :O

  • no, i listened to Alanis Morissette since i was a baby (my mum always played the album) and Immi's old music dosnt sound anything like Alanis, in fact, you cant ever compare Immi with anyone! its impossible!

  • I might compare her music just a little bit to Bat for lashes but Alanis didn't come to my head either!!!

  • I understand that perhaps it was a bit silly to make that comparison, and I do agree, Imogen Heap is one of the most unique musicians I've heard, but I was merely speaking in terms of just the similarities in the rawness of their voices. I guess maybe it's just me. :/

  • haha i thought the same thing when i heard her first album.

  • I see where you're coming from, her voice, the way she sings certain words.

  • I actually think it does, just because the lyrics and the tone. :) I dont understand why you got a thumbs down- they're both great singers.

And you can only really hear the similarity- at least in my opinion- in a few of her songs, and on certain notes. :P

Immy's her own person, but it doesn't mean that she can't sound like someone else at sometimes. They're both great, so why should it matter?

Personally, I'd LOVE to see the do a collaboration! :D

  • of course, this IS an older song of hers. Since, she has developed her own sound :)

  • wtf at 5:30

  • the guy she was singin to didnt reply or anything so she was like r u there

  • testing

  • Hi :)

  • Hiya to you too..

  • This tune begs to be done live!!

maybe she'll do it on her tour

  • This song SO ROX!! I wish she'd do a re-make of this with a kick ass drum/bass combo, and her trademark interwoven vocals and really throttle the keyboard solo, which she is sure capable of.

  • I think the reason most people aren't used to her old-styled rock-esque music (like this) is because they're...well...too used to her new ones (duh). I like it. Unlike may others, I actually started with iMegaphone, but I understand why a lot don't get her rock style.

  • me too! started on her with iMegaphone myself all those years ago, so I know exactly what you mean. I love all of her stuff, old and new. I'll say this.... seeing her perform with just her and her piano is one of the best things I've ever seen

  • It reminds me Portishead

  • Agreed.

    :D

I just recently started getting into TripHop, so this is well-timed.

  • If you really like Immie, you'd support her music...

  • I love immie's music, but I don't like the way she used to sing on i Megaphone. I guess this song is from that period.

  • agreed. on Speak For Yourself she sounded much better imo.

  • a little portishead this one...

  • Imogen Heap can rock any house down to rubble!!

Imagine if she did this live with Jeff Beck's band. She's the most versatile musical force in years.

  • ughhh ive looked everywhere to download this song for free....no luck :( I wont give up!!! iTunes you will not take my moneyy!!! never!!...ok sorry anyways imogen heap you, my dear girl, are an absolute awe ive never seen someone so talented love this song, love you! cant wait for the third album!!! :)

  • ummm ehhem. well there is one way to get it for free and any other song for that matter. its what i use......its not really legal but ya now what ever. its called limewire. u just gotta download it and you can get any song you wish. it shares other things that people have so sometimes you get some stuff that you dont want. so you gotta be careful. oh and when you download it it will ask you for money. its a trick. just get the free one.

  • frostwire is where its at these days

  • or you can use youtube downloader

  • I don't think I like this one as much as Frou Frou :I

It sounds like she picked up a country accent D:

    Thank you for uploading though ^_^;;

  • This was her when she was first strting out...very rough and unpolished.

  • this song rox!

  • Comment removed

  • Oh... It *is* her. Sounds like this is around iMegaphone time, cause her voice is like this on that album. I don't like it as much as Frou Frou and Speak for Yourself. I do like Come Here Boy, though.

It's amazing how much she's changed.

  • relate**

  • I can so ralate to this song

  • me too. sent the lyrix 2 my ex. i think it worked. . .

  • OMG, this is imogen heap? :S :S :S

I like it much more nowadays...

  • great and i'm just now hearing this song!

oh well better to have heard than to never have heard this song at all

  • I love listening to Imogens old stuff, then to her new stuff. I just love hearing the progression of her instruments, vocals and lyrics. I love all her music, but for different reasons.

  • I just love this song!.....

  • Imogens older stuff is quite... "dark". It's so raw... full of energy. But somehow... it's undefined and thus flawed imo.

  • that's how i feel
