Second...This is just a testament to how hard any corps works and how amazing they are, and that's displayed just by the simple fact that their timing and consistency is so perfect that you can take audio from a video, put it to a different one and they will be perfectly in sinc...wow...
But there's something so lovely about The Boxer conceptually it gets me as much as when I hear The Raindrop Prelude. I just wish I could do his so bad, and I hope to god some day i'm able. I'm still sad that I only started doing WGI a year ago. I'll never get to do this show ever. And this was possibly one of the closest things I could have endeared to, maybe other than Crown's 2008 show. Let's hope I get good enough so I can do some Drum Corps before I age out, not just indoor...
And, remembering how far he had gone, he still has that panel with the lyrics inscribed. It meant so much about his childhood and how he had been able to go from the absolute depths of poverty to getting an entirely free education just off of the sweat on his brow, and how much you could do anything you wanted if you tried enough. It always makes me a little sad whenever he plays it, too, because i'll never have the sheet music to do the same.
Our pit tech was the center Marimba for Rhythm X in 2010, and he marched this season. He'll occasionally play the part from the ballade in between our practices at GMU, and it always gives me this slightly whimsical feeling, and makes me tear up a little on the inside. My dad was the archetypal representation of the child in the song. he carved the lyrics to this song into a panel of oak before he got shipped out to the Air Force Academy from his little poor life in Maine.
Oh man, when BD got 2nd, the crowd went NUTS! I was sitting in front of a bunch of Phantom fans on Finals night. Phantom, Cavies, Bluecoats, and Crown (In no particular order) had the best shows this year, imo.
Blue Coats are the most underrated corps ever. They deserve better titles than they get and this year is a perfect example of that. They SANG!!!! And did it pretty well too!!!! That standstill moment is one of my favorite DCI moments ever!!!!
@BBradyo To be fair that year was absolutely insane. Crown Killed it and so did Phantom Regiment. Bluecoats are my favorite alongside Crown, And yes this show was amazing, one of my favorites, and any other year they probably make top 3, but this year was one of the best DCI years I have ever seen.
The 2 people in the stands during a huge ovation does give it away :) You put it together nicely though. I saw it in Bloomington Thursday night. Great Show!! But....Go Phantom!
@magikkmann Ive watched this a few times and I never even realized it! The first giveaway for me was the voice of the announcer in the beginning. I recognize his voice from finals. Also the crowd reaction...I was like: theres NO way that many ppl are watching their rehearsal haha. it synced very well though!
First off...BLOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I heard from Bluecoat's website that 350 people tried out for the corps this year. So much for being underrated.
