  • oh my

  • Arr that shit will buff right out

  • germans should re think how they do crash tests. this is horrinbly dmaging the haul

  • I'm a beginner, thinking about buying my first sailboat. This video was hilarious.

  • Are they purposely looking for stuff to hit? They're doing a great job of itl

  • @Alembic77Series1 that is usually what you try and do in a crash test

  • safety is a good excuse for us Germans to go and crash things

  • jaws insurance. for when the owner gets eat'n

  • Das nenn ich mal nen stabiles Boot!!

  • Das nenn ich mal nen stabiles Boot!!

  • This video really shows jut how much beating your yacht can take, if it is built to high standards. This Dehler 31 demonstrates little damage after more serious collisions in one day than a yacht experiences in a lifetime.

  • I wish my car was that durable

  • Wow ! So , Dehler 31 is undestructible !

  • @bastpol lol understructible, is that like the opposite of indestructible??

  • Are they nuts or what, to destroy a nice boat like that... probably trying to sink it for the insurance monies.

  • I guess this boat was for sale after some small repairs. Wonder if the new owner was told about the history....

  • Pobre velero !!!!!!!!!!!

  • AMAZING !!!

What a tough yacht..Dehler yachts must bee proud.

  • They should try hitting a submerged shipping container.

  • @Joeey Yes and do they test crash the keel . My German is not up to speed

  • @Joeey

...40 ' sailboat submerged log at night in the gulf stream during a storm we raced and lost (from nassau). lost prop and had 8deg rudder

  • @00Billy that's why full keel. prop and rudder are behind keel. maybe not so fast but would be safer in open water, eh? nice.... big... fulllll.... keel.....

  • @Joeey

    hehe yup..we were a 40' centre-boarder....drew 4.5 ft. What a beast.

  • wow i boat for pot heads.. wow man i musta dazed i totaly didnt see the break water and what if it did sink honey how was yur day oh great i swam home after crashing a 200000 doller yaht in to a break water in front of like 50 people it was a great day now i get to spend all day tomorow pullin the boat out of the water

  • bei dem offensichtlich so morschen Holz würde ich nicht von einem "Crashtest" reden, eher um Werbung die wir ja schon von Küchenpapier etc. kennen.

  • Ah thats fun! Does anyone have the phone number of this rental company? ;)

    R.

  • This is just like a tank or maybe a Titanic unsinkable ... ha ha ..

  • Idioten,, anstatt das schöne Schiff absichtlich zu schrotten, hätten sie es besser mir übergeben.

    So eine Verschwendung

  • If one of the reasons you are purchasing a boat is the ability to bounce of solid objects, perhaps you should not be on the water.

  • LOL!

  • I dunno...

With the amount of floating debris at sea - from planks of wood (like those lost from the deck of Sinegorsk) to shipping containers - the ability of a vessel to withstand impact is something worth considering - especially if you're the kind of sailor who doesn't assume right of rescue. The magic "mummy! mummy! get me outta here!" button found on things like EPIRBs doesn't do much for that mentality, but some sailors would rather have a boat they can get to port regardless of impact.

  • Oh - that's probably an INCREDIBLE selling point for anyone operating a charter business. :p

All that said - does that not look like a really fun job?

"What did you do at the office today honey?"

"Oh it was great fun - I got to sail into a rock wall at 6 and a bit knots - the impact was fantastic and the boat was hardly scratched!"

  • Ummm yeah and that is why I purchase a car and truck also

  • gente più stupida di questa nn lo mai vista!!!!!

  • Testboat was given by Dehler Yachtbau.

  • Could they do this same test with a Bavaria?

    You need 7 ships

    Soulmates

  • They did the test with a Bavaria, too

  • Did the owner of the boat approve? Or was he on vacation?

    Johan Hackman

  • Did the harbour master really approve of using the mole to accomplish this test?

    Johan Hackman
