I just read something interesting about Galaxy Quest. Guy spends the whole movie fretting about dying because he's the nameless crewman who gets killed. He later becomes a regular on the follow up show where plays the Security Chief so you think he's safe.
Except Galaxy Quest is based on Star Trek. And in Star Trek's follow-up series (TNG), the security chief gets killed in the first season.

Marvellous editing to produce an incredibly authentic title sequence...Does a lot of credit to a very nice film that had a great theme,a strong cast and a really well told story.Makes me wish there was an episode of Galaxy Quest to watch on TV tonight..Ah well,maybe in some alternate Earth they watch this series and someone has made this great spoof of it called 'Star Trek' !
