My little Lucy, she is a black miniature schnauzer, will only sing if she is with her family. No strangers. If my boyfriend is there she just stares at him, like "What? You hear that noise she is making? I don't know what the hell she is doing that for", but when its just me she sings.

@abtsadiemaekole Sorry about your loss.. Schnauzers are different then any other dog. They all have something, that not one other dog have. To bad they're hard to find in the Netherlands. My last schnauzer was from Ohio, so that's pretty far away.

Our schnauzers "sing" too if I sing a song in a very high pitched voice to get them started. And usually mine (Keno) has to start it... his brother (Louie) will want to sing/howl but waits for Keno to begin before he will.

i lost all three of my old, trusted, loving schnauzer companions this winter. i now have a new puppy but my heart will always ache for the ones I had for so many years. They are like people; the female died within a couple of weeks after i had to euthanize her male companion of many years. the oldest followed not long after. they were also bonded to each other. going thru the puppy madness right now but sure i will love this new one as well. great dogs.

@ycst25 I am so sorry for your great loss.I lost my 7 years old Cavalier King Charles,Pascoe,June 24th 2000.Even I got another dog after his death,who is now 11 years old and loved just as well,I have never forgotten Pascoe!Tanja(the one I have now)has never been a replace for him.He has his own place in my heart just as well as Tanja has.And when Tanja is gone,a new dog will never take her place.
