Born in '79 and grew up in the 80's. Spoiled with fantastic films and music. The 80's were a golden decade...so many good memories. No im not being overly nostalgic....it was just a great decade. Creative storytelling, imagery and film scoring at its best.
@DIGITALSCREAMS I am 46..and watching TNS on tv right now..I love the soundtrack..the 80s were excellent..I feel sorry for kids who will never get to experience how fantastic the 80s were for movies, tv and music..it was a great decade.. Kirk..Montreal, Canada
haha old back day memories dang hecka long, long time no hearing for 17yrs ost and this song can be final fantasy riding a airship like ff9 :) rescuer
@usnavysss Exactly, Today's tripe is all about pop star idols who cannot act for toffee. They try and shock us with violence and pornography because they cannot make anything unique like this any more. I work in a cinema and believe me the tripe that gets put out is redicolous. Gone are the days of experimental movie making and creativity. Its all corporate big wigs wanting profit on top of profit. At least we can say we were there :) Peace brother.
@zark212 It *was* experimental movie making and creativity because the field wasn't as explored as it is today.
It's very hard to come up with something original that is still digestible by the audience because all of the classic movies (the ones that 'did it first') have gotten there first.
Aha, I saw Giorgio Moroder recently been handed out the 'Lifetime Achievement Award' at the World Soundtrack Awards ceremony & concert in Ghent , October 22nd. Lovely to know he did all those wonderful suites and introducing disco elements into movie soundtracks. Happy to know his repertoire a bit better now! And you know what was also cool: watching Hans Zimmer at a piano, synthesizer keyboard and Macbook during a long suite from 'Inception'. Chilling!
OMG!!! i cant stop clicking the play button..i luv some much this movie that i want it!!!! and this master of pice its just wonderfull mk me imagine that im in fantasia anfdflying over falcor!!!!!
@Johnlindsey289 In other words: Someone ruin a beautiful orchestral score from one of the most cherished movies of the 80's by associating it with a mediocre over-priced 2009 flick featuring giant naked smurfs.
Oh come on James Cameron is a masterful director you know and Avatar deserves to be the highest grossing movie of all time. What did you think of the CGI in the film?
@Johnlindsey289 I have nothing against Avatar's CGI. Avatar is a masterpiece of special effects, character design and computer graphics, and it realy seems like they put a lot of effort in it. And that's the problem. Good imagery doesn't save a weak story. Even if you painted the most beautifull and realistic picture of a guy getting hit in the crotch, the picture would still just be about a guy getting hit in the crotch. I praise Avatar for its visual prouesses, but that's abou it.
But do you think it's Cameron's worst film to date? Cameron wrote the film in 1993 but had to wait for the technology to evolve in 2004 to film it in 2005. If you want a real Sci-fi epic fail of a movie, see David Lynch's 1984 Sci-fi mess known as "Dune" which is even worst and has one of the most confusing and faustrating screenplays of all time.
@Johnlindsey289 I agree with you. I don't care what anyone says about it, Avatar deserves all the attention it got. Plus Star Wars didn't really have an original plot either but no one nitpicked about that movie.
This is my favorite track! Ahh, such happy memories of my childhood, long live The Neverending Story!

James Cameron is run of the mill. Avatar took a TIRED story, didn't add a THING to it, and made it look good.
