Wow in this video, he goes to the All category for games and it says 89, but when I go, a year and a half later, it says 1187. So don't depend on this video. There are now thousands of apps, over 1100 just for GAMES. For entertainment I haz 809, 116 in the adult section alone. When I hit "hottest apps" at the front it told me 6470, and whats new, 5647. So MY POINT: This phone has TONS of GREAT apps, and even if they cost a bit of money, all of the apps I've bought have been worth-it READ REVIEWS

@Shawshank00 I think people are more upset at Palm because the SDK they released is extremely poor and they did not deliver at their process. As you have seen the app catalog is still beta after so many months. They need to pick up the game... When Blackberry launched their store it came out of the box with 1000+ apps. webOS is still in the low hundreds. Thats why people are upset.

The small app catalogue on WebOS (as well as the lack of GPU integration and lag) that caused me to get a HTC Hero on Android.

I'm gonna give Palm my 24 month contract duration to get the Pre and Pixi really up to speed (both literally and with the apps) and then see...but saying that I'm loving Android right now.

So, since the pixi doesen't have wifi is there no maximum MB limit for the app downloads, like the iphone does? It's just in the UK the 3G network isn't that great, downloading a 30mb+ app would be a right ball ache.

ya know, i was watching this video and how he was scrolling up and down with his figure and it hit me. All these new phones are just iphones rip offs. No phone had multi touch or a touch screen with the smooth scroll by swiping the finger. No one had an app store, etc. All these phones. The pixie, the droid, all them are just iphone wanna be's. they couldnt innovate there own phone so they steal apples features, not only steal but almost Duplicate. They are all counterfeit iPhones.

Its not like Apple didn't steal from Palm either. The concept of the home button, threaded messaging, silent/ringer toggle switch and even a touch screen on a phone are ALL concepts that originated from Palm.

Apple just did what it does best, polish existing ideas and making them accessible/cooler which admittedly is to be applauded.

You need to go back a few more years Shaw. Much like webos is a "close relative" of the iPhone OS, the original Palm was dead in the water until it's 'collaboration' with Apple and it's Newton in the mid and late 90's. BTW...iPhone 3G sold over 1M untis in it's first 2 days and total units are now over 17B so keep it honest.

meh...Maybe android marketplace can, its the closest in the apps catalog to the Iphone, but ofcourse the Iphone has about 1,5 years or more of advantage. I remember when the App store came out, I didnt really like it cuz apps on the installer were just free and you could do alot more...
