I remember this guy. He wasn't a shire, he's a Clydesdale cross, he was so funny. There was another Clydesdale there, I think you used to have the video, and all he wanted to do was play with the balloons. If you think this course was good, you should have seen last years, which was even better!
I have just started training my Shire for this. I like the variety of obstacles. More mounted units are using drafties. They may spook, but the bolting issue can be controlled.
aw poor guy, that really was a cute draft though, i must say.
this one time i was at a hockey game and while waiting in line we were talking to one of the police officers and my friend was like "yeah well WEEE ride horses too" and he was kind of getting annoyed at us ( hahaha ) and he was like "why don't you go pet my friends horse over there" and he points to his friend and his horse is bucking and going crazy in the parking lot and we were like "Umm..kbye."
yeah it's really nervous for a mounted police horse!? i mean what happens if there's a demonstration or something and the horse freaks out? dangerous... good rider anyway
I'd say that's a damn spooky clydesdale to be a police horse! Is this really a police horse? Maybe you train your differently in the USA. Our British ones jump through fire etc.! Gorgeous Clydesdale though.
Actually, Europe (Britain included) tends to use more traditional warmbloods and drafts than here. (Most popular here for police work is the Quarter horse.) The big fella must be young or (for all we know) having a bad day.
these horses are really brave...my horse can't do half this stuff...throughbred...the police are pretty good riders, but I'm not much for draft horses.
I love draft horses they are so beautiful. unfortunatly the only time I rode one it bucked me off, except goose from normandy but you cant really say that and irish draught horse is a draft.
clysdale is a little high strung lol just like i like em'. beautiful horse and a very good rider.

I have to wonder if it's a younger horse, because he does seem a bit spooky to be a police horse.
Otherwise he is beautiful and his officer did well with his encouragement to him.
