It did have problems when it was first released, Compatibility problems. They are all worked out. Vista is completely stable.

No it isnt. You should read the reports about SP1 in PC World, PC Magazine, and other technology publications. In many tests, pre service pack Vista did better than Vista after SP!. LOL..Good old Micro$haft. The general findings were that SP1 offers no real improvement over Vista prior to SP1. Info about all of this is easily found via the internet or in tech publications. See for yourself.

Before you say anything else, try using my copy of Vista. I run Windows Vista Pre Service Pack and SP1 on a Dell Inspiron 530. The Pre Service pack worked a lot smoother despite some programs not being able to start.

I have both a Dell and my iMac on my desk at work, using PhotoShop, Word, Excel...all major applications and going back and forth with files on our Windows 2003 Server JUST FINE. And if I feel like running Call of Duty faster than my boyfriend's POS Windows PC? I switch to Windows XP and run it at blazing fast speeds...oh yeah...and I didn't have to upgrade my video card to run it like he did.

The problem with vista is that it's bursting with DRM, extremely bloated (we're talking about 16 gb vs xp. Funny, windows get exponentially bigger, '98: 1gb, ME: 2gb, XP: 4gb, vista 16 gb) and so wrongly overpriced. 400$ for the FULL version of windows? WTF. And 230$ for the main version.... That's a bit over the top compared to when XP came out. Besides, Leopard only costs $129 for all its features. Vista is worthless. I will continue to use XP.

half the problem with peole saying vista runs too slow is that companies like HP and dell are selling computers with the bare minimum so they can just handle the the operating system. buy a decent computer and vista will run fine. i've never had a driver problem, and i've got old programs that don't run on xp that run perfectly fine on vista. if sumthing wont work properly on vista, seach a forum and you'll find your answer, thats wot i do. hav never had a problem yet.

Software? Let's see, I can run a plethora of (usually better than PC) Mac software, or I can run any of your PC software. That's flexibility, right there. Our software is usually cheaper, too. $120 for a single, all inclusive OS or $400+ for Vista Ultimate. iLife and iWork are $79. Compare iWork to Office for hundreds of dollars.

Crashing? It happens, but a hell of a lot less than it does on a Windows PC. Don't bullshit me, I've used Windows a hell of a lot longer than I've used Macs. When an application does crash on a Mac, it doesn't affect the operating system. Kernel panics are extremely rare. Also, Macs don't suffer from "Winrot", the inherent ability of Windows to become more unstable and prone to crashing with the passing of time.
