  • @daze007 its d.a.n.c.e. by justice, remixed by mstrkrft

  • Of course I wouldn't criticise Mozart for writing Twinkle twinkle - he did it on real instruments! It's pretty obvious from the massive popularity of genres such as 'dubstep' that the majority doesn't know anything fundamental about music. It's also And trust me, I would never be jealous of anything these wanks did save for having 22,000 american apparel sluts dangling off their balls. When your software produces more of the work than you do, what's the point?

  • @nakabar once again, you are an idiot who doesn't understand music. You think its just about being able to play something. Considering the fact that you know nothing about jfk, and you dont know him personally you should shut the fuck up. I love how you idiots blindly criticize human beings that you have never met based off of wikipedia. He obviously knows fundamentals of music. Go study music for the rest of your life and be a miserable little cunt, making superior music that nobody likes.

  • @RJPBurtonBoards lolol keep grasping dude! right, because what dj keeps anything to do with music in their 'dj bag'? I don't have to base anything off 'wikipedia'. I saw 'death from above' play during their 3 week stint in that genre. now, they had a hissy fit with each other and only play repetitive elementary electronic beats that are automatically swung and quantized. Finally, the point is that it IS easy. Look how many "electronic artists" there are. there'll probably be 15 more by tomorrow

  • @nakabar once again, if its so easy, why arent you already famous?

  • 1000 dollars in cash in his DJ bag? Can anybody say drug dealer, Hahahahahaha

  • What is the song at the very end????

  • @lmfaoman1001 That is a remix of D.A.N.C.E. by Justice

  • @nakabar better do some research about MSTRKRFT before you talk shit you wank. both members were in bands which didn't have to require Protools. Besides everyone uses ableton

  • @0Leadmeister0 Hey dick licker, if you'd actually done the aforementioned research, you'd have noticed that SERATO live, and protools are the software they use, according to wikipedia. Second, that lame, defunct excuse for a band, "death from above 1979", yes, the one with the elementary drum beats and the elementary bass lines and the barely comprehensible wailing, hardly counted as being a talented musician

  • @nakabar lol, and according to the wikipedia article that section where it says they "use serato and protools" does not have any citations and is pending removal due to false information. stop getting angry just because you will never be famous like MSTRKRFT

  • @0Leadmeister0 "fame" means nothing in today's world. there are youtube celebrities who merely make videos with a webcam and have more fans than 'mstrkrft' ever will. keep eating up this whack shit. also, i guess you didn't read the part where that "uncited and false" information has been "pending removal" since 2008. i'd imagine if it was actually incorrect, it would have been challenged, and subsequently removed by now. your assertion that it is "pending removal" is actually false.

  • @0Leadmeister0 it simply says that IF it's false, it can be CHALLENGED and then removed. as for you, these arguments don't seem to be a strong point of yours. you may want to stick to giving your money to american apparel as a passtime, it's far more difficult to make a fool of yourself that way (on an intellectual level, that is).

  • @nakabar music isnt a fucking competition you cunt. You going to criticize Mozart for writing twinkle twinkle little star because it is elementary? Music is about making something that you enjoy, and sometimes, entertaining other people. Mstrkrft and DFA have done both of these things, and are more successful at it than most. Quit being such a whiney little cunt. You can criticize, their music, but it just shows that you are jealous for not thinking of it yourself.

  • @RJPBurtonBoards Also, before everything went digital, DJing wasn't yet a discredited art. In fact it still was an art, as one actually had to beat match manually. Remove that aspect, and you have DJing at its current status: mostly hacks playing other people's songs and having people cheer them for it.

  • @nakabar if its so easy, why arent you famous already? He was obviously joking in this video, and you act like he went up to that guy and said "Hey look whats in here" do you realize that this interviewer set this up? Where in the titles does it say he is showing his musical instruments? NOWHERE, it says he is showing his dj bag, which he does. Your statements are irrelevant and make absolutely no sense.

  • @RJPBurtonBoards i've been playing acoustic drums for 11 years kidlet. if i wanted to make mediocre shit with stolen samples and recycled beats, i would have already. in fact, with a few weeks of practice, most people could do what this guy does with a copy of ableton and an inexpensive controller. aside from the creative aspect, the program does almost everything for you. even beatmatches, which is the main thing a dj does, so what's the point of even having masterkrap "dj" anything?

  • @nakabar cool story, nobody gives a fuck about your shitty drum set. Why would they ask him to play a set without his laptop? You are making the dumbest fucking points I have ever heard, its really sad how jealous you are. DJ's dont use real turntables anymore, its all cdj, panasonic just released a statement that technics is stopping production of their turntables. Nobody expects him to use real tables, and he has never claimed to, so what is your problem? You suck at drums after 11 years?

  • @RJPBurtonBoards epic argument man, say the same things over and over to me and then accuse me of making "dumb points" lol. "once again", why would i want to sound like all these clowns who copy each other? right, nobody expects him to use real turntables because the art is dead. you let your computer put your set together now. dude, he claims to be a dj. yet probably the only dust he gets under his fingertips comes from his grimey hipster mouse as he downloads other peoples shit to have

  • @nakabar DJ is a name being given to anyone who does this, Deadmau5 who is a producer, and blatantly says that he is not a DJ, still gets called a DJ. 5 Year olds can play Beethoven, does this mean he sucks? So what if you can play their beats, I dont know any beats in techno that were written to be difficult drum pieces. Making something difficult does not mean it is good. You suck because you are a bitter whiney bitch. They are not my idols, I simply like their music.

  • @RJPBurtonBoards Your points are irrelevant dude. Only a snowboarder or some other mongoloid would actually think the things you say have anything clever or legitimate about them. For at least the 3rd time: if i was inclined to make cheezy 1/4 note oriented techno beats with lame synth blips and other shit that can be done with one hand on the mouse, i would do so, and churn out the songs like this dong probably does. as i said before, the mediocrity doesn't appeal to me.

  • @RJPBurtonBoards beatmatched for him. as far as playing natural instruments goes, when i was 13 i could play any of DFA's lame beats with one cheek tied behind my balls.. so if i suck, what does that say about your idols?

  • @nakabar Good for you, nobody cares about your drum skills. You might have been able to play them, but I know for a fact that you lack the musical creativity to replicate any of mstrkrfts songs. IF IT IS SO EASY, WHY ARENT YOU DOING IT? You still wont answer that question, because it blows apart your argument. You are a sad little bitch and will never get anywhere in life with your arrogant view of music. Have fun drumming in your basement, nobody cares, while people you consider talentless win.

  • @RJPBurtonBoards lol the dude arguing *for* masterdaft accuses me of "lacking musical creativity", epic notion. unfortunately as an uninformed fan of simplistic electronic music production, your opinions of music are irrelevant. Just so you can't rebuke the same thing yet again, i'll reinforce my answer for you, since you've missed it 3 other times! i know, text is a hard maze to navigate! IT IS SO FUCKING EASY TO MAKE MUSIC LIKE THAT, ANYONE could do it with a pirate copy of FL studio

  • @RJPBurtonBoards go listen to some of that new super hip 'dubstep' shit, then you'll be cool. oh wait, dubstep's gone mainstream too. that took about 6 months from nerds making that shit on their basement computers and a bunch of hippy stoners who don't understand that there's more to music than bass, to porn intros that try and stay current. keep listening to what those who surround you listen to, and keep jerking off to "music" that makes itself for its producer. you obviously know a lot.

  • @nakabar When did I say anything about dubstep? You bitch about mainstream music, why dont you go bitch about all the shit thats played on the radio, lil wayne is much worse in my opinion. You still havent answered my question, all you said was that it is so easy that anyone could do it. WHY ARENT YOU RICH AND FAMOUS YET? If it is so easy, as you claim. Now you are talking about porn? You are insane, now I get it, you live in your moms basement where you drum and watch porn.

  • @RJPBurtonBoards lol, robert, where do you live? i'd love to come to a place where people like you try and act intelligent. this is like arguing with someone tripping on shrooms. no matter how many times i answer your 1 question you were so clever to think up, you just keep asking me over and over as if i didn't reply. do you know how to read? maybe you live in des moines or some buttfuck place where shitty electro music makes you feel like you're living in the present

  • @nakabar @RJPBurtonBoards - Both of you guys chill out, fuck man, who cares?!

Also, the argument about Ableton beatmatching your songs is irrelevant.

I've never once had Ableton perfectly beat match 2 tracks, EVER. Warping takes more time than traditional beat matching, and can be a severe pain in the ass to do live. Also, Serato does have a sync button but it too is rarely ever 'perfect'.

  • @RJPBurtonBoards what do you think this guy would do if someone asked him to play a gig with no laptop? on solidstate equipment with real turntables? "how do you play mp3s on this things lololzzzzz"

  • @RJPBurtonBoards And on another note, what kind of twat gives you a tour of his "musical instruments" and shows you his little bitch 1000 dollar wad. wanker doesn't even know how to roll it properly. what a high celebrity with his 1 grand.

  • @RJPBurtonBoards You can tell from just watching this shit that this guy just picked up these "instruments" and figured out for himself how to use them. Look how proud he is of his shit, he's so excited to show off all this gear he can barely explain. But i guess his unarticulate demeanor explains his unarticulate music.

  • @RJPBurtonBoards Perhaps the best thing I have heard EVER. Thank you for being educated.

  • Ean, you're so awesome.

  • at :08 I'm the douche with the yellow bandana on

  • WHAT BRAND ARE THOSE EARPLUGS?

  • @peternaps didn't you hear the guy? they're the ones from "the people who make hearing aids"

  • Whoa nice Rolex!

  • what are those headphones?

  • @bathinthefountain Pioneer HDJ-2000s

  • what do you guys think that mstrkrft uses... wav or mp3?

  • u'd sue him? lol ha ha brilliant yea right. anyone with sense knows to wear ear plugs when exposed to as much loud sound constantly as DJ's do even working behind a nightclub bar. just u stay in you room and listen to ur ipod speakers ur we ears will be safe there

  • what brand is his watch from ??

    whats the namme !

  • what brand is his watch from ???

  • anyone know name of song??

  • Justice - DANCE

  • D.A.N.C.E. by Justice (MSTRKRFT Remix)

  • any one knw where i can get that big ass new era sticker?

  • anyone knows the name of the track at 1:20 ?

  • brazilian girls - good time

  • thank you mate

  • I like how it looks like there are two plates with a bunch of pot on them on that table. I don't know if that's really pot, but that's pretty awesome looking whatever it is.

  • 1:46 Alex Puodziukas iis eating the stash!!!

  • White noise CDs just have white noise on them and combined with effects and simple faders they give you those "whoosh" sounds that build up the song or extend certain parts of the mix. Useful for building tension in a set.

  • Future flower power ];D.

  • Looks like a Headliner Bag a think.

  • what are "white noise" cds??

  • Comment removed

  • thanks for the info mate,

but why does he need 6 of them?

  • i think, it for back up reasons who knows what might happen to one of does cds

  • They wont all be white noise.. I imagine he'll have a couple of sample CDs too (with one shot samples etc to scratch in or cue in) and possibly even visuals discs there too.. I carry 4 timecode CDs, one white noise CD, 2 sample CDs and 2 mixtape CDs to manage the transition..

  • please help me.. I am a noob. White noise is a sample?? or an fx? what does sample cds contain? drum loops? synth lines? how do you use this for djing. What is a mixtape cd?? thanks

  • @felipescalador white noise cds are used for build ups and the like (can filter it and effect it to change the sound..)

Sample CDs are likely to contain name drops, movie quotes, words, blips and crunks - to drop in and scratch in. Just makes it a lot easier than having them on serato (so you can put them on the 3rd CDJ) and make the set more interesting and unique.

I have mixtape CDs so that I can put in a 15min premade mix at the beginning of my set to give me time to set up my gear..

  • @felipescalador white noise is static.. just like the static you'd hear on your television. there are different frequencies of white noise.. DJs mostly use it for intros, outros, build ups before a break, or transitions to get the crowd going nuts waiting for the next track to be dropped.

  • no its not the wrong term for it. he uses the cds with white noise to create build up effects like ''swooooshhhh''. the serato timecode cds are completely different.

  • I guess CDs that you use for timecode control with Serato (or Traktor Scratch Pro if you have traktor scratch pro)

  • white noise cds are just noise samples with no beats - ive seen them use them after opening acts to get the sound where they want it , and drop there custom intros before palying their set

  • from what brand this a backpack !

  • Yea you should definetly do a What's in Your DJ Bag? for that guy Ean Golden

haha I bet he's got some cool stuff

  • what bag is that

  • The earplugs a definate need. I noticed I am starting to loose my hearing too.

(You see how soft he was speaking)

  • Ooooooooh yeah. With any music above normal listening conditions (amplified instruments, drums, concerts, blah, blah...) you need earplugs or at least headphones. Of course I mean the kind that are made to reduce sound waves, not provide sound waves. :)

I never thought so until I actually noticed hearing isn't all that rubber; my drums broke off a piece of my hearing like plastic.

  • its D.A.N.C.E by justice remixed by mstrkrft. love both of em

  • ean u gotta do of these vids. just saw mstrkrft on the 16th it was amazing!

  • Sweet!

  • I'm wrong when im saying Blink 182?

  • Playing in loud venues all the time really takes it's toll on your eardrums. Those who go clubbing all the time will tell you of the ringing in the ears that's still there in the afternoon.

Some may say how can you mix with earplugs? Well the plugs only cut out the really high frequencies that are most damaging to the eardrum. The kick and the mid instruments can be heard pretty well and the lower top end parts of the hats can still be heard but the sharpest edges have been softened.

  • wrong kingklabe,

he even says in the video that it has a FLATTENED curve... that means it doesn't cut the high frequencies more. a flat response curve means all frequencies are represented as close to naturally as possible. musicians' earplugs dont colour the sound by cutting certain frequencies, they just make EVERYTHING softer equally.

i mix with earplugs all the time, all you gotta do is turn your headphones up to compensate

  • Yeah fair enough.

I use the standard construction site earplugs.

I can grab a massive handful from the building site for nothing.

Personally I would rather have the high freqs cut. Tinnitus is a bastard.

You're right though. I should have took my cheapskate earplugs out when listening to what he was saying.

    =)

  • some1 knows the name of the song?

  • I was half expecting him to pull out a box of condoms.

  • Comment removed

  • haha I thought he was going to say,

'now.. haha.. what every dj needs....'

    'COCAINE'.

jk, but it would have been hilarious.

  • hahah I thought it was going to be some ecstatic tablets. :)

he was totally being sarcastic when he said the earplugs were $200 right? I feel like an idiot for asking, but they were in a special little bag, and they look like they have something special on the end of them, and neither him nor the interviewer seemed to be smiling or sarcastic about it. haha am I just stupid?

  • Those kind of earplugs are pretty common for musicians. A friend of mine dropped $300 for these silicone earplugs that are actually molded to fit his ear specifically. A good investment if you're playing really loud shows all the time.

  • Yes been meaning to get some of these ear plugs for a long time now.

would be nice to see "WHAT'S IN YOUR DJ BAG" become a regular feature.

  • Niceone! Hope you'll be making many more of this interviews

  • Very well organized, ha :P Those earplugs are a great idea!
