Im picking up my full premium ambx kit today. I wont actually connect the speakers though, I will stick with my Sennheiser PC360s or Logitech Z-10s. Really looking forward to trying it out. Should be great fun with movies!

Immediately installed it and fired up Far Cry 2. Must say I'm disappointed the fans aren't used more, it's a really neat effect. So far they're only active when I fire a rocket, or during the intro movie and menu screens.
Would've been so cool if they were on whenever you were moving fast, sprinting, travelling by vehicles, falling. Shame.
@Eiffel61 I got mine off Amazon.co.uk for about $133, that includes shipping. At that price, it's definitely worth it. Not sure the full price they charged for them back when they were new would've been.

Love Farcry2 but I cant get over how alot of the guns are left handed but ur guy fires them right handed...sending ejecting brass into his face..my face....I dont know if it was a flaw in the game graphics or the game story...but its a major flaw indeed. Has anyone read into this?
@MrTex1987 I don't think it's for any other reason than eye candy. There's more to look at with the moving parts and what not. I think today most games have stopped doing that and made them proper right handed.

No, the kit shown is an amBX starter kit (just the lights) combined with the amBX expansion kit (fans and rumbles). The speakers are completely seperate and came with my PC.
If a game hasn't had amBX added by the publishers, then 99 times out of 100 it will work with the amBX FXGen. This generates lighting effects automatically from what's happening on screen.
Out of curiosity, you say this game is fully ambx enabled... Does that mean a game needs to support these for it to work properly, or is that just for the fan effects ?
For example, could you watch a film and have the same lighting effects?
Or just play any old random game and the lights work.
Cos I got speakers already, was looking at getting just the lights.
Hi Drew, there are several ways that you can get amBX out of your PC. Some games have code built into them that generates lighting, fan and rumble effects. This is what I mean when I say Farcry 2 is fully enabled. Another way is, if you have a game (or media player) that is rendered with OpenGL or DirectX (versions since about 2000 I think) then amBX can pick this up and automatically generate amBX lighting (kinda like the ambilight TVs). Both look good, but the fully amBX titles feel great
....If you look at my LotR video you can see what the automatic amBX looks like. Not the easiest thing to see the difference on youtube but I think it's a pretty good example.
seriously weird question lol, what colour is ur wall?, i know it sounds daft but i have purchased the pro gamer set as all i want is the lights and it worked out cheaper than the starter weirdly, but i was thinking my walls red and the wallwasher will be lighting on it do u think that will effect the colours that it produces? i mean will purple or yellow still look redish on the wall?

In case anyone else is wondering, my wall is white. Obviously different coloured walls will affect the colour of the lights but I used to use my kit elsewhere on a different coloured wall and it still gives a really good effect.
It may seem gimmicky at first but you'd be amazed at how much it changes the way you play games and watch videos. It all just seems boring without amBX now that I've tried it with amBX!
I've owned a starter kit for half a year and I can say it really ISN'T a gimmick. The immersion can't really be understood until it is actually experienced. I ordered a second kit just yesterday so that I can increase the effect.

Do you use the Phillips AMBX Premium Kit SGC5103BD/05? If so, does it sound good? I'm not sure if I should get it or not considering sound quality.

for the fan and rumble pad you need some drivers not every game support Ambx
but the ligths doenst need it they work on every game
