I have been here since October '10. I'm glad I live off post. I live between Ramstein and Baumholder so I can have the convenience of shopping in the Ramstein area and having a 25 minute commute to work.
I'm an E-7 and I am on assignment in Baumholder. I was told by housing that I have to stay off post. Does anyone know some decent places to live off post? I'm looking for a nice sized house. Are there towns nearby where other military members stay?
Nothing like driving around baumholder listening to the Misfits! Its a quaint little German town....but quaint sucks when your a young private with lots of beer money...I was there d 3/12 Infantry
I lived there off base in 1981. I was a very young military wife with a baby in tow (16yrs). My husband was in 2AD. I was raised a military brat...what a treat to be able to revisit some of these places online. Thanks!
I think you vid has done it for us brats who used to live there. Last time I was in Baumholder was in 95. Thank you so much for your video. So good to see one of my hometowns.
Danke Schoen!!!! I lived there twice when I was growing up(Army Brat),and am a proud BUCCANEER (Baumholder Amer.H.S. alum) and this brings back soooooo many memories of the place & time...much still the same,too?

I was assigned to 8th Finance, during 1988 to 1991 on Smith Barracks, but worked at Rose Kaserne in Bad Kreuznach the latter two years.
