Airport Code is SJO - for San Jose. Similar to other major cities where the airport code usually points to a bigger city, while many airports are located outside of those cities. FYI. I have been to CR 6 times - LOVE it.
Where are the busses as I get off the plane? Will I need to go outside and be subjected to all the chaos? I presume that the bus is the best transportation to Perto Viejo from airport..
You'll have to take a taxi into San Jose,,,and get the bus from there. Tell the taxi driver: The intersection of Avenica 13 and Calle Central (Terminal del Caribe
uhh or u could save a ton of money and take the bus from the front of the airport to parque la merced... it costs 450C. and from there u can find bus stations depending on where u r headed. caribenos is close by if u go to limon region
@sangreespanola16 yeah, you could, but most people aren't comfortable coming off a plane in a foreign country and putting all their luggage on a local bus.....and hoping they get to their right connections..... and personally, not sure if I would recommend it either.
There is something wrong about the video's name and description. The internatonal Airport it is NOT located in San José, actually it is located in Alajuela, it is another province of Costa Rica that is next to San José (San José it is the name of the capital city and the province as well). You should correct that information because you can confuse many people about where they realy are when they arrive to Costa Rica.
Technically, of course you are right. But actually I disagree,,,,most travel books refer to the airport as being 'part' of San Jose... If we said the Juan Santamaria International Airport in Alejuela,,,,I believe 'that' would confuse people. Even look at the other video's from other people....they call in San Jose as well... just sayin.
ls that the longest video description ever or what? ...lol
l didn't read it since l'm a lazy guy XD, but the video was pretty nice... it's always good to know what to expect when you arrive to a foreign country like Costa Rica:) Great job my friend!

A small tip I learned from someone: There's an ATM in the baggage claim, upstairs from it. For those not wanting to make an extra trip to a bank.
