i would rate the person talking 4.5/5 shes great, and is original in describing the product. The only problem for me she just needs to speak up a little bit more
I cant afford a decent cpu, my hard drive is like 60 gb, so the space on this would free me from deleting everything every once in a while, and its super silent.
I really liked your video and your channel. If you need any help getting this video or channel exposed I use a site called tubeviews.(net) It has really helped like 20 of my main videos get to the top in position. God Bless!
I love that it boots up instantly and is super quiet. I've been wanting a computer to hook up to my LCD TV so we can watch online videos from the couch. I haven't got one yet because I didn't want some big noisy machine in the living room.
I cant afford a decent cpu, my hard drive is like 60 gb, so the space on this would free me from deleting everything every once in a while, and its super silent.
I vlove how fast it boots and that it can be mounted on the back of a LCD screen!! =D Its so cute and tiny!! If I won this I would it give it to my dad. He needs a new computer and I love the 1000he he bought me! =D
I think the instant-on feature would be great for quick web browsing needs, and the hefty Hard drive would be great for storing music and pictures! I would keep the EEE top in my room!
The ebox is very cool perfect for my hectic life! I love small and compact electronics. I would definitely use it for myself and give my old computer to my spouse, who doesn't have a computer at all! Love Asus products!
the two greatest features of the eeebox are the size and the expressgate which allows it to boot faster than normal computers and the size of the eeebox allows it to fit on desktop without taking up too much space. i would use it for everything because my friend already has an eee pc 1000he and i would love to have an asus product as well!!!
This seems like a stylish and functional product. Express gate is pretty cool, quick, function that would allow me to browse the internet in a snap. "It's the smallest desktop pc in the world." I just came across this quote, I'm amazed!
Well I love the size of the computer and the ability to mount it to a LCD. I also like the boot to browser and how clean the setup is. I would give away my old computer or toss it depending and replace it with the Eee box.
I'd probably give the Eee Box to my mom, because it's small and elegant, and my mom would appreciate the quietness of the Box. Also, I have SplashTop on my notebook and love its convenience and speed. I'm sure she'd make good use of that.
Yeah the eee box measures a tinsy 8.5 x 1 x 7 inches, and weighs a mare 11 pounds but Intel atom N270 not cool, runs pretty slow and hot. Dont get me wrong im a huge fan of asus and eee pc but seriously i would love to use the ee box as a media server for my personal media and i love the fact that it uses 20 W of power. A HDMI port will be nice though.
The best feature of the Eee Box is it's low footprint/performance ratio. When you're a budget-constrained college student living in an expensive city with several roommates, efficiently using your space is a must! With the Eee Box, you'd have more space in your room for the rest of your peripherals.
I love the fact that the eeebox consumes 20 W on average, and uses the atom N270, which gives a great computing power of 1.6gHz.
If I ever get a eee box, I would use it as an entertainment computer in my family kitchen, where you can eat breakfast and browse the Internet for latest news, call call friends using VoIP software such as Skype. Because its so tiny and quiet I can hide it behind my monitor, so I will still have room to prepare my meals!
What I like is the quietness, I would use it as a home theater for my home, running high definition movies from Eee Box. This would be an ideal way to use it as the loud fans of regular computers wouldn't be a problem for the Eee Box as it seems.
The eee box looks like a very brilliant compact computer that is low on power usage but packed with great features, i like how it can mount on the back of a monitor verry easily, if i won this georgeous eee product i would use it every single day as my computer for browsing the web, chatting with Skype and just having fun.
Damn, the Asus Eee Box Pc is soo cool, i never imagined there could me any pc as small as this and still has higher specs like other large desktop computers. with limited space, you can still use the Asus Eee Box Pc. If i get hold of one i will use it in my bedroom and store all my notes, movies, music and all other stuffs on it and will use it for my chats and read my emails with the express gate since its the fastest way to get access to emails. This is really "total stylist" as Kim says.
The Eee box is sexy looking! Plus the small power usage and silent operation of it makes it perfect for any location. I would use this for college, allowing me to use a fully function pc and large sized monitor without the restrictions of desk space.
The Eee Box is so compact! Not only does it not take that much space, it could be stored into a small space behind the screen you are going to use! Especially love the Express Gate, as well.
Just like the Eee PC, the feature I like the most on the Eee Box is its small size. It's just so awesome that I can actually mount it right at the back of the monitor and keep everything out of sight. How cool was that, it's like having an all-in-one device.
The Eee Box is so tiny compared to my giant desktop that I'd use it a lot more. I'd hook it up to my LCD TV so I could use it as a multimedia device. It's Express Gate quick boot up speed would also be a nice feature, along with it's super quiet CPU.
The Eee box looks great. I love the fact that it doesn't take up alot of room. That would be great for my kids room so they can do there homework on. keep up the great work.
there is no doubt the best 2 features of this EEE Box is the low decibels and small containment. Now we can hide it in secret compartments of our desk and no one will even notice our monitor being connected to a tower :P
Sorry. Here we go. The size is definitely worth considering, and I can't wait to hook it up to my new LCD! I'll hook it up in our kitchen to watch cooking shows and look up recipes!
do we comment here or at facebook? either way I like how it is very nifty on space saving ideas, not only is it small on foot print but can hide behind a monitor too.
I really like the slim design and how it can be attached onto a computer monitor. Also the fact that it runs quietly is pretty cool too. I have had really loud computers in the past and they start to get annoying. If i had the Eee Box, I would use it as my main desktop computer for web browsing, music, word processing, and more!
It is the perfect box for anyone considering a home theatre system, as it is small, you can run media centre software on it, and tuck it behind a television, or even have it as part of your home theatre setup, without it looking weird. If I was eligible to enter the contest, I would definately set this up with Nero's TiVo software, and use it as a second TiVo. But seeings I live in Australia, I am not eligible. :-(
What I like about the eeeBox is that is extremely compact-it looks smaller than a laptop, which I like a lot since portability of a computer is often a necessity, particularly amongst college students. I like how the noise it produces is only at 26 decibels, which allows me to just leave it on without creating a distraction while I'm studying
I like how the eee box has the hidden partition to reset the computer to factory settings. And mounting it on the back of a monitor makes it very portable - almost like a laptop with a fullscreen size desktop!
i was shocked to see how easily mountable it was to the back of the screen. i wonder what all it's system specs are, something that small must have a fall down in power (i'd bet graphics) which is why a tiny laptop is a better idea because people want small laptops (unless they're for work) but generally higher functionality are the dice to roll when it comes to desktops.
I wouldnt even attach it to the back of the computer.
I would have it on the desk on the stand because i think the design is great aswell.
Thats so great having a low noise level, my current pc, is so loud, but also, it doesnt have anywhere near as good specs as this does which is unbelievably small compared to the big tower pc that i have at the moment. (its years old so has bad specs)
I love that the computer runs at only 26 decibels so it doesn't bother the other people in my office, and Express Gate will save me so much time every day when booting up! I love the idea of this computer!
I am really impressed with Express Gate. I am always just wanting to get onto the computer quickly to check out a website. The ability to mount the eee box onto a monitor is also a very very cool feature. I would most definitely use the eee box as a browser and multimedia center for my HDTV.
I am impressed by it's efficient power usage. At only 20 watts it will definitely lower the operating cost of the Eee Box. Also the quick plug and usage and immediate accessibility of the USB ports makes it ideal for me when I want to continue writing my book, which is just how I plan to use the Eee Box. Elegant, Ecological, Economical.
i love that it is only 26 decibels and that it cant mount on any LCD. i also love that it has express gate, which is really nice if you need to just check your email or something quick online. the biggest this is it will save up to 90% energy.
Being so compact and silent makes this a very good option for a media center PC. I'd hook it to my LCD TV and stream netflix and hulu over it. Much more convenient than the huge tower that I currently have hiding behind the TV.
I think it's an awesome unit that would look great on my new 22" widescreen display. The smaller footprint would make transporting easy between different locations. Asus has always made very solid products and I'm excited to see what this unit can do.
The eeebox compact size is the best feature. If i were to win one i would totally use it as a computer for my car. I would place the eeebox under the seat and mount a nice LCD on my dash. Plus its very quiet and i hate loud computers. PICK ME PICK ME
The mounting to the monitor and quick boot environment are by far the best features! The media reader is also good though.I'd buy a new lcd and use this in the kitchen if i won.
As a University Student, saving money and cleanliness is one of my main features, to have a computer running behind a LCD with a Load Power of only 19W, not only will i have more desktop space, but it will also be power efficient and to Top it off, it is completely silent, meaning if required to, i can leave it online all night without waking others (or keeping myself awake) This is like the Toyota Prius of Computing!
Mounting on the back of a VESA compatible monitor and Express Gate that boots in seconds?
That is one slick PC.
Definitely perfect for somewhere you need a computer but don't have room. I can definitely see myself using this on my project table for my various electronics builds and robotics work. Would be perfect since my proj table is always cluttered and I wouldn't have to sacrifice desk space!
I like the quietness and small size of the EEEBox. If I won one, I would mount it on the back of an Asus 22" flat panel and turn it into an mp4 media center.
The 950 GMA graphics plus the Atom would let me run a nice FLOSS distro with eye candy!
Plus, if I ever get too ambitious customizing my OS and screw something up, I can feel better knowing that the embedded Express Gate can get me back on my feet!
Pros: With the Eee Box being lite, it's something that can be taken pretty much anywhere and attached to a monitor whether it's at home or at school. The thought of taking your home pc anywhere is a pretty cool thought. For a small box it has quite some power with an atom processor along with 80gbs of (removable)space.
Cons: I think $299 would be a much more attactive price point
I love the hidden recovery partition, I always lose my recovery CD's.
Also like the idea of a TV tuner, its extremely portable and won't even be noticable. I really enjoy the portability, I can easily transfer files/documents from my computer at home to the one at my dorm.
because the box is so small and compact, i would use it as my entertainment computer when connected to my LCD TV or i could use it anywhere i want! I could access the internet, work on school projects, or chat with friends between commercials, all from the comfort of my living room!
The reason I would wan to have it is it has wifi so I don't have to mess around with all those ethernet cables, and it only weighs 1 kg so it makes it really easy to move from place to place.
I love the really small form factor, it would be a perfect computer for my parents since it's small and looks cool. they don't care about lots of power
i also like how little power it uses, cause we're all supposed to be trying to be green these days
1. The DVI port. Most computers today STILL ship with a VGA port, a tech that is 20 years old. Nice to see a lower end solution that keeps up with the times.
2. The card reader. Just like the netbooks, it has a reader for my digital camera media, or I can use it for readyboost/the paging file to speed up the system a bit.
Pretty lady! I like how small it is. I travel a lot so I would be able to take it almost anywhere!
I would use it as my main computer seeing as my current main computer is Windows 95 with 256 mb ram, and 15 gb hard drive. It would give me a chance to move up technologically. Help me! =]
My favorite two features are its low volume (26 decibles is great!) and that I can easily mount it to any LCD monitor, which means that I could easily take it almost anywhere.
I would probably use it to record music (I'm a vocalist / keyboardist) via the USB ports. Currently, my desktop is too loud to effectively record anything without a lot of hiss from fans and various noise, so this would be a great help to me!
Waaw, This Eee box is very Cool, I can use it as a media center, connected to my Big screen TV and watch my favorite shows/movies on the net, I like the light weight, wireless, Express Gate
I like the size of the Eee Box. You can mount it to the back of a VESA monitor. I also like the fact that the power consumption is very low for a computer.
I like how you can attach it to the rear of a monitor and effectively hide it out of sight. Unknowing friends would be wondering where the computer is.
Having the choice of Windows or Linux versions is also a nice option.
I like the HDMI output. I could hook this to my 47" LCD HDTV for HD videos.I also like the battery being capable of acting as a ups. With this my home automation software would be a charm!
Awesome. Love the S/PDIF out and also the HDMI connection. Glad to see the video card in the higher end versions. Would love to build a mediaserver on this box!
I really like the "quiet" part. I'm so sick of PC's that sound like jets. The size is another big plus. The name says it all: Asus = quality. I love my 1000HA Netbook.
Oh man! This thing would be a great addition to my growing list of Asus products. It's quiet - and will mount anywhere. It's fast. This thing could run almost all my electronics - and - operate my lights and coffee maker (with the right interface).
This is a new and exciting product the people at Asus have given us !
I would love for this quiet (26 dB) powerful (Atom N2xx series) system to replace my current media centre box. Not only would the lower noise be a plus but with it's wireless connectivity it can grab media from any computer in my house! This would be great!
Well, you can't get any more compact than a desktop box you can stick on the back of a monitor. The low power consumption will appeal to those looking to do their part. It's netbook power in the desk top world will make the appeal of this unit more toward children and older people you do not have a lot of experience with computers.
I love that Express Gate boots up so quickly, and the fact that the EEE Box is silent. I want one! - Paul Clare / Asus Facebook Fan, and proud 1000HE owner.
I like the quietness (26 db). This would make a great addition to a media center.

I'm thinking this would have to become my new HTPC. The silent nature & low power consumption would be a huge plus as a HTPC.
The 802.11n WLAN mean no lags for streaming video or downloading content
On the USB ports I could place:
* a USB DTV Tuner for Video capture & pass-through
* an External terabyte harddrive to store content (video, pictures, music)
Card readers make it easy to copy digital photos.
An DVI2HDMI, I could hook it up to a HDTV. And with the read S/PDIF out, nice audio.

1. Tiny - no need for a huge desktop tower anymore.
2. Right balance of power and cost - it's easy to pay way too much for way too much of a computer these days.

So compact, fast and quiet. Perfect! I am just using a laptop right now, so this would be a great upgrade!

Wow , that is a great computer.

Has low power consumption, so just about every day can be earth day!
80GB not enough storage space for you, pick up an SDHC memory card to expand almost an extra 40GB.

That it can mount on the back of a monitor is the best feature, followed by the fact that it's so quiet.

man, i wish i had a silent pc, mine is louder than a laundry machine!
Also, with this small little pc, it could easily be moved from place to place, which makes it the best media pc!

As a University Student, saving money and cleanliness is one of my main features, to have a computer running behind a LCD with a Load Power of only 19W, not only will i have more desktop space, but it will also be power efficient and to Top it off, it is completely silent, meaning if required to, i can leave it online all night without waking others (or keeping myself awake) This is like the Toyota Prius of Computing!
dharmesh1989 2 years ago
Mounting on the back of a VESA compatible monitor and Express Gate that boots in seconds?
That is one slick PC.
Definitely perfect for somewhere you need a computer but don't have room. I can definitely see myself using this on my project table for my various electronics builds and robotics work. Would be perfect since my proj table is always cluttered and I wouldn't have to sacrifice desk space!

The 950 GMA graphics plus the Atom would let me run a nice FLOSS distro with eye candy!
Plus, if I ever get too ambitious customizing my OS and screw something up, I can feel better knowing that the embedded Express Gate can get me back on my feet!
rmlang505 2 years ago
Pros: With the Eee Box being lite, it's something that can be taken pretty much anywhere and attached to a monitor whether it's at home or at school. The thought of taking your home pc anywhere is a pretty cool thought. For a small box it has quite some power with an atom processor along with 80gbs of (removable)space.
Cons: I think $299 would be a much more attactive price point

2 Great Things:
1: Noise, often ignored, this is a huge feature. This computer is silent enough to go just about anywhere!
2: Power. The Atom is a full-powered CPU, capable of running Windows XP! It's great that the computer is this capable!

First - the size is magical, the same size as my Wii. Did I mention the color is the same as my Wii?
Second - the very quiet factor, I call that the work without complaining factor.
Third - the ports are all accessible from the rear, very convenient.
Gotta have it!

because the box is so small and compact, i would use it as my entertainment computer when connected to my LCD TV or i could use it anywhere i want! I could access the internet, work on school projects, or chat with friends between commercials, all from the comfort of my living room!

2 things I like:

2 Features I like most (due to its small size):
"Instant-On" capability allows an application like skype to instantly launch without having to wait for windows XP to boot.
Also the low power consumption is great because it allows you to keep the machine running 24/7 which is good if you use skype as your land phone line.
stdTrancR 2 years ago
The eee box is made from green materials! How cool is that. :D
Also, I really like the fact that it can boot in seven seconds. Fast, quiet, and environmentally responsible? Count me in!
TheInfiniteAmmo 2 years ago
My favorite two features are its low volume (26 decibles is great!) and that I can easily mount it to any LCD monitor, which means that I could easily take it almost anywhere.
I would probably use it to record music (I'm a vocalist / keyboardist) via the USB ports. Currently, my desktop is too loud to effectively record anything without a lot of hiss from fans and various noise, so this would be a great help to me!

Oh man! This thing would be a great addition to my growing list of Asus products. It's quiet - and will mount anywhere. It's fast. This thing could run almost all my electronics - and - operate my lights and coffee maker (with the right interface).

Well, you can't get any more compact than a desktop box you can stick on the back of a monitor. The low power consumption will appeal to those looking to do their part. It's netbook power in the desk top world will make the appeal of this unit more toward children and older people you do not have a lot of experience with computers.
