In Canada we celebrate Thanksgiving on your Columbus day. I think since we can date european settlements in Canada to about 400 years before Columbus got lost and assumed he was in India we find celebrating Columbus rather foolhardy.

Apparently that's something to celebrate over by not having school or work.

He is largely responsible for the silly practice of referring to the Native peoples of America as "Indians", while referring to actual Indians as "East Indians". It is slightly similar to the American practice of claiming that English people speak their own language with an accent.

4/5, this is quite bi-winning for me. This is my FAVOURITE game show, the COLOURS are quite interesting. ALUMINIUM is a good metal, but eating it made me go to the LAVATORY. Oh in my AP US History class we call Columbus day "Indian Genocide Day" because when Columbus came over, he and his men killed all of the Native Americans. Columbus even tested his swords' strength by cutting off the fingers of Native American children. Wow. What a wonderful guy to have a holiday for. Hey, at least we have no school.
