I wil say that two and a half years ago when I uploaded it few people had HD cameras not to mention the software to edit and upload HD which is really why I labelled it the way I did. The vast majority were down at 240 or 480 and had bad sound quality. This footage is now beginning to age and with higher quality cameras coming out all the time, I may have to re-record it next time we visit with new equipment or edit my title.

@MusicalsFan15 When the dragon is down (because it happened several times before) they leave Maleficent on air and use special lightning on her and the waterscreens project transparent fire images (instead of showing the dragon) so you can see Maleficent and Mickey thru them and the lake is fired up from flame throwers hiden around the stage underneath mickey and her, this is used as a backup when the show has no dragon and hence the dragon can't spit fire over the lake to fire it up. :)

Just like the show is nothing without Mickey the show is not Fantasmic without the dragon.

also...if the show is about the dragon then you basically agree that DL's is better because people want to see a legit full dragon rather than fabric on poles

after all the upgrades disneyland did, HD projectors, flotsam and jetsam, new fireworks/ pyro/ lasers, new croc, and ultimitely the new dragon, i think its better than DHS's. alot of ppl seem to like the disneyland's different segments more than DHS's. but both are amazing shows and have their own unique differences. disney ftw!

am i the only one that thinks there's too much smoke at WDW? i thought that when i saw it in person...and especially think that when i see it on video. like....too much smoke from the pyro and stuff. they need to upgrade fersure.

@zekeayala I think that may have something to do with the moisture in the air in Florida. The air in California is so much drier that the smoke from things like pyrotechnics can thin faster. But in Florida the air is so moist, it weighs smoke down and makes it linger longer.

Great Montage at the end! I were in Florida just a month ago visiting WDW for 2 weeks. after watching it live the thing that i don't like about DHS Fantasmic is the long bubble scene. Overall the show is good, but i still think Disneyland is better! because of the many upgrades that they had. New HD projection screen, new lighting, 3 new characters, fireworks, and of course THE NEW DRAGON!

ive been to disney world and disneyland but i only remember seeing the disney world's fantasmic which was in march 2009. I was too young to remember disney land, but wat i have scene in the DL fantasmic and what i saw in person at the DW fantasmic i really believe that DW fantasmic is better.

Reason being because ours is more original, we have a better finale boat, we got new additions, we dont have that long sequence on the water screens, and a better set.

i still like DHS's version, but not as much as i like DL's.

Hold on a second... More original? What exactly does that mean when applied to evening shows? More original in what way? DL's finale boat is "better" only from a "finished look/more ornate" standpoint because it is a real riverboat. As I said before, the end boat at DHS should be brought to DL because it more accurately represents the steamboat in the classic Disney Cartoon "Steamboat Willie" which is the entire point of that ending. Due to that I would say that DHS has the better finale boat.

After all, the whole reason for that sequence is to reference, show and include all of the characters from Disney's past.

Both shows would then be "incomplete" as the DHS show does not include Pink Elephants on Parade, The Ursula (sp?) segment, Peter Pan, or the "No Strings" segment. There is more Live Action and more floats in the DL version.

So really no one is "better" they are two different shows. It's "The Price and the Pauper" vs. "The Man in the Iron Mask". Same basic plot, same author, different events.

I think you need to go back and watch all 3 segments again. DHS does have the characters you reference. Perhaps not the same segment but that modern rehash of PEOP is pathetic. The Ursula segment is expanded to include more villans instead of just her. The only real major float is the pirate ship but that's needed to do any kind of action scene due to the small size of DL's stage area. Bottom line HWS's version is larger, covers more Disney characters, and has better crowd arrangement than DL.

I will admit DHS does need their projectors upgraded BADLY to the ones used at DL and the scene where mickey fights the dragon needs to be redone to match DL's. Just standing there with the sword spraying sparks pointed in the general direction of the dragon is just lazy.

I highly agree with everything you said, DHS' fantasmic in my opinion is far superior. There are more villains, the boat at the end makes sense, and now, the finale fireworks are better. DHS rly needs to add the new dragon though.

The viewing area in Disney Land is way too small for an evening show like this even in Value Season. Unfortunately there's not much else Disney can do with their limited real estate in CA. I haven't seen the CA version in person but I feel like it would be odd seeing the larger steam riverboat at the end and viewing it basically in the middle of the park.

Aware of the PShip. WDW and DL's Fantasmic shows are different. I was referencing the fact that the riverboat used as a ride at WDW and DL is used in the finale for Fantasmic at DL. WDW has a separate boat at HWS that looks more like the boat from "Steamboat Willie" the Mickey Mouse cartoon that it is supposed to represent hence mickey being in Black & White. To me they should figure out a way to hide a boat like the one at WDW instead of using the sister ship to the Libety Belle for Fantasmic

What can make WDWs Fantasmic go back to 7 days a week could be new projectors like Disneyland and a reinvented finale. It still looks great but now it's running only 2 days a week :(

maybe it depends on the season. If it's a non-peak season then they do it 2 times a week I'm not sure but I think they're looking at the amount of people entering the park each day.

Fantasmic was moved to 2 days a week due to "The American Idol Experience" ::rolls eyes:: They wanted to be able to do the AIE Finale every night and to get a crowd for that they cut Fantasmic. It costs Disney an estimated $30K every show to run Fantasmic and with park attendance down due to the economy, running AIE's finale is much cheaper and needed since the majority of construction was payed for by outside company sponsership.

That particular disc has the audio from the Disney Land & Disney World Fantasmic Show, as well as the audio the parks play as you're exiting after the show which I used for the montage. I'm not sure you can buy it anywhere except for in the parks or at Downtown Disney.
