My understanding was that trying to see if you can seek out happiness by means of convenience rather than compatability (trying to find love and family at the supermarket, etc.), you will find that it's simply not worth it in the end. The "ideal family" portrayed by the media is an illusion, and totally false, and sometimes by the time you realise that, it's too late. That's why she's dead by the end.

You know how you go shopping and the things you really want/have to buy are in the backside of the whole damn store? (The reason why Dairy and meat products are in the back aswell) It's usually to make you walk and browse around while your at it. And hopefully if they did a good job, you'd be buying more than what you really need. In my opinion, this animation it's the story of a lonely woman & shows the differences between appereances and reality..between people who really care for you..and people that are there just like that, just to post their image around you, but never there to help you. She dies alone because nobody is actually there to help her.
