  • Ahhh. All tingly now. :)

  • How beautiful!!

  • I just love the lyric. anyone knows what this song is about?

  • @vaduzcrew It's about loving someone, but knowing that if you hold too tightly to them they will fly away like a butterfly. The butterfly is a metaphor for the boy who wants to fly away from her.

  • The first time I ever heard this song I had to pull over and call the radio station to ask who it was. It's one of the most beautiful songs ever.

  • soo soulful...

  • Before going to sleep i would watch this music video and it really makes me feel I'm in a wonderland. Thank you for uploading this video! :)

  • argh!!! my heart just melted! now i'm lost!

  • I really love this version... Can't help listening to this song over and over again...I wish Tori could come visit here in the Philippines =)

  • We could have made beautiful babies together!

  • There is nothing more beautiful in this world than Tori's music.

  • Great live performance. I would love to to this woman in concert.

  • hello i'm claudio and i have a problem...i'm tori addicted!

  • This encapsulates perfection for me - musically, emotively, lyrically, melodically. Tori, the genius. Ever grateful to have shared this life with such a wonderfully creative human being. You warm my spirit and touch the heart of me.

  • So amazing, so talented, so lovely. Nothing but adoration for her!!

  • Amazing amazing amazing.

This song gives me a strange, hopeful, happy feeling.

  • I like this version much better than the recorded album version. It sounds more sad and sincere without all the backing vocals during the chorus.

  • I love this woman!!!!

  • Before she became HUGE - I was blessed to see Tori live 3 times - small venues with no cover charges - amazing, she is amazing. Many thanks for this beautiful upload nalli77 - peace ;.)

  • Thank you uploader. =) Tori Amos has always been part of our lives. Her music has always been an inspiration. Again, Thank you. =))

  • you have issues...

  • @SoiledBlood .

    I sure do.

  • It seems like she is looking into a different, deeper, unknown dimension.

    This is sheer loveliness.

    *****

  • She looks young :O

  • one of my favorites...she never sings it live anymore?

  • Where is my Tori? I'd like to meet a single girl as talented as Tori. Wow!

  • shes so beautiful and talented

  • She sure is:)

  • I saw this on television when I was in 6th grade...it made me cry, this song is so beautiful, and so is she! : )

  • "I btw have a obseesive compolsive dissorder regarding Tori"

Don't worry, we all do. I still think we oughta like make a fundraiser for us or something, don't you think? ...

  • A Kookey, freaky, flame-haired angelique.

    A beautiful performance.

  • Tori, you are one of a kind!

Nice to see, nice to hear, nice to me.

  • She sings like an angel ;) Tori Amos is great!

  • Tori at her best.

  • I wish I had an mp3 of this, thanks for posting.

  • lol, hey nalli, you say you have excesssive compulsive disoredr? Is that because of the numbers thing? I have this number thing, but I see these these as a idiocyncrasy and nothing else. I count shit and remember insignificant shit like locker numbers in high school. And I also was born in 63,lol.Tori is so beautiful, and so talented.I could listen to her sing all day every day.Oh now as I read other comments, are you obsessive with Tori and not dates and numbers, they call that stalking, lol.JK

  • I count the steps of the stairs and I count the letters of the words to find out whether their total is a multiple of five (i.e., 'multiple' has 7 letters, but if I take 'multiple of' I got 10, which is a multiple of 5). And when I hear about dates, I sum the numbers (i.e.: you were born in 63; 6+3=9; 9 is a multiple of, it is actually 3x3, and 3is a sacred number for the ancient numerology). I don't know why I do this!

  • omg i relate everything to 3 too.....it really wicks me off cause my birthday is 10/10

    lol

  • Sometimes I add or multiplicate the numers of the registration of the cars, for no reason.,

  • Please turn back the clock, GOD! Tori was stunning....

  • This is a stunning version of SWB, plus she looks fantastic! Thanks for this.

  • I know what you're going through with your Tori Amos OCD. Same here, haha...I want you to know it never stops, haha...

  • Airplanes...take you away again...

    so beautiful!

  • I love this version. One of the major bitchy complaints about this song from Certain Fans is its "adult contemporary" sound (lol...right); but, I'll admit it's fascinating to hear how different this song is stripped down and done with old-style "just Tori and a piano" purity. Personally, I liked the studio arrangement,: I found it appropriately lush and romantic. But this way, the exquisite, crystalline melody really emerges, and it's easy to see that this is truly another timeless Tori ballad.

  • This is definitely the best version of this song that I've heard (studio included)......she sounds fantastic.

BTW, to whoever posted this: thanks a lot, of course, but perhaps you should channel some of your Tori OCD into spelling. ;)

  • She looks and sounds stunning.

  • this is a song for everybody. the music is just so great!

  • This is the Tori I want for the next album :)

I just <3 the Beekeeper era

  • She´s so cute=D

  • idd, she is just so cute <3

  • oh man, people this why i love tori. she is such an amazing performer, its beyond compliment. what i just don't get is why the rest of the planet isn't flipping over backward for tori as well. but anyways this a perfect example of one of her songs that is just BETTER live on the piano than it is in the studio.there are many many other songs that are the same. some however i do prefer the studio version over the live versions, but i just love tori, bottom line. period.

  • This is a very beautiful song. I really like Tori singing this enchantingly ang with much grace. I also like the part when she sort of lovingly purrs like a cat. Her pronounciation, well, in one of her interviews (in a talk show?), she said that she kind of like to play with words.

  • i love this arrangement.. very sweet and very heart felt..

  • It's not very often that a live performance can surpass the original recording... but, this live version of Sleeps with Butterflies is definitely by 1000 miles, better than the original!! I know some of you will disagree - but that's how I feel.. I tend to read the lyrics to a song before I listen to it, the song is very passionate, intimate, and somewhat sad.. I would've like to hear it recorded just on piano.. would've been amazing! Now i know!

  • now, i wonder who will actually NOT agree with you on this. I mean, you are absolutely right, this song works much better without the cheesy acoustic instruments and multi-layered vocal arrangement. I didn't like it when i first listened to it even when I admired the lyrics from the very beginning, then i heard her perform it stripped down to just piano and... frankly, i am on the verge of tears every time i listen to it. (I still consider Beekeeper her least succeed record, though)

  • @caliboiblu AGREE 100%

heard this one first, and much preferred it to the original

  • @caliboiblu Yeah, she does that a lot. Check out 'Maybe California' live on UK Absolute Radio. Also there's a version of 'A Sorta Fairytale' recorded from a Swedish TV show that just blows me away. :)

  • she's from North Carolina but she lives in Cornwall (England) with her husband and daughter so she's got a little accent sometimes...but sometimes she simply sings words differently and no one knows why, y'know it's just because she's tori amos.

  • From what I know she actually lived in the D.C. area for many years. I have relatives who went to her father's church. {he was a minister}....This song is beautiful! I agree with what you say about the production but the words and the way the song flows is so beautiful it blows me away!

  • im sorry, im still new with tori amos.. im just wondering, where is she from..? why is her pronounciation different..?

  • hehe that's just Tori in all her quirkiness ^^

  • my favorite part is at 3:13

  • this song is more amazing with just the piano as in this video!!!!!!!!!!! words can not explain!!!!

  • D, I love you

  • When was this taped?

  • Kiss away the night =)

  • i love Tori Amos and this song is so calm..

  • she has fire on her eyes

  • I cried watchin this... Really beautiful...

  • I can relate,, it really is beautiful.
