@KurikazuTheWarrior smoke was originally human remember he was part of the lin kuei so he was part of the cyber intiative well not really, he was captured while trying to escape outworld with sub zero but smoke was captured

I am confused. They manage to find perfect actors for the characters for short commercials - but when it comes to movie adaptations, they tend to look off way too often? It's like the developers of game-based movies intentionally tries to piss us off.

@kurvos No, it's the stupid directors that want THEIR input not the original source. I think they try to pretend that they invented Mortal Kombat/the source or something. If they just kept everything the same, it would've been awesome. I have yet to see a movie that stays true to the original source. I think everyone wants to be the next Kubrick, Ridley Scott, or Coppola because their adaptations beat the original source, but it's a rare occurence.

I laughed my ass off at The Shining - it's silly, cheesy, trying too hard and the actors seems to not even take themselves seriously. I almost fell asleep to A Clockwork Orange - it's the only movie ever that gave me literally nothing to watch. Full Metal Jacket... meh. Just meh. i was like 11 mayb 12 when this game came out and i remeber being stoked but it was very hard to adjust to the 3D Characters, even back then with 3D games taken over. MK vs DC was ok but they have had alot of misses since the change to 3D. Great story modes to play thro and puzzle kombat was the shit but way to many changes to the gameplay. i felt the create a fatality was awful, took away all the personality that every other MK had

Yes the first game took place on earth, but sub-zero was still throwing ice, and Goro had 4 hands. Shang Tsung was morphing in every character. The MK Rebirth version can't do that... he is now a Mafia boss... I don't think he can handle magic :)) And yes the world of MK is a violent one,but the idea of the game is to keep it only in your PC, not to make it look real... MK Rebirth wants to find realistic explanations for every character, but I'm afraid that's impossible :(

@geoklaus00 they could easliy say Shang Tsung studies blk magic and has the ability to morph into others.Thats not difficult.Its really easy to give a mystical character a real world interpretation when you are creative.And Mortal Kombat looked damn real when it first came out in the 90s.It was revered as one of the most violent and realistic games for its time and even to this day it holds up pretty well.Goro can still be in it,and so can Raiden.He can still be a god.
