Blue, Red & Yellow and Fire Red & Leaf Green were the best Pokémon games in my opinion.

My reason being is that all the Pokémon were freshly designed and rememberable (even after 12 years). A lot of the newer Pokémon take too much inspiration from the originals.

the reason why the first gen is the best gen is because:

- its the most memorable gen

- the pokemons are not the most creative, but the resemble real life animals and things from the nature, and thats what makes these pokemons so awesome

- it is the gen that startet it all

- its the gen that has most pokemons with fur (the newer the gen is, the les fur the pokemons have)

- its probably the gen with least pokemons that looks like they were made for 4 year old kids.

you have to remember, the gameboy was limited. Their are actually only 37 completely different cries. All the rest are ether repeated or pitched up higher and lower.

@N1ceV1d Not possible. These are from the original Red and Blue games, and at the time they didn't figure out the technology for this. Yellow version came out, however, and by using the sounds the gameboy could make and by breaking down Ikue Ohtani's original voice clip, they were able to make it sound as if Pikachu was saying his own name. It was cute to do for the Yellow version opening, but wayyy too much work for all 151 pokemon at the time and too much money wasted if they hired the voices.

@BluntAnim I dunno. Again, i dont mean to devalue the old pokemon because i fucking love them (been playing since 2000) but if you think about it, the old ones are basically just cartoony animals. Its the new ones that are a bit more "creative". Now, along with creative you get weird ones too. But anyway, i just think it all has to do with nostalgia. Some people hate change, i love it and accept each new series. However i did think the gen vs legendaries (other than the main ones) are pure shit.
