  • where did you get your phone holster from, i need something like that for my car. ordered the elm327but i read not everyone had success with using it in a ford which i have. anyways thanks for the video

  • @bobkilla430 I got it from Verizon. I have used the ELM 327 on several of my friends Fords and have not noticed any problems. I hope it goes smoothly for you. Thank you for watching.

  • Thamk you. Just after I send you that message I was able to make it work. The password was on a txt file inside the mini CD.

  • Hello I have one like this but I cant connect it to myu android. Do you know the bluetooth password?

  • @apzeiroturbo Honestly I have no idea. I do know you have to pair the two devices. You do that by going into your settings and picking wireless networks then click on bluetooth connections. Then hit scan for devices. Make sure your scanner is plugged into your vehicle when you do this. Hope you get it all sorted out.

  • awesome stuff man. i just ordered mine a few minutes ago. i can't wait till this thing comes in! this thing is like $500 worth of expensive gauges! how are you liking yours so far?

  • @leakedfromtv I like it. For a cheap adapter it has served me well. The best part is the cost, if it goes bad just order another one.

  • Is the app torque only for android? I can't find it for iPhone.

  • @eye1em No, you must use an adapter with WiFi. Apple uses a proprietary Bluetooth stack meaning that the creator of Torque would have to pay Apple a fee to use their stack instead of an industry standard one for the Droids, etc. There are a couple apps as I recall for the iPhone / iPad. I do not know how good they are or what their capabilities might be. Bottom line, a BT adapter will not work with Apple products. So Apple is the NEW Micro$oft.

  • does it read body cods also like abs or vsc?

  • @mehrshadvr4 While I am by no means an expert, I would believe it should as those codes are stored in the main PCM and readable by the code reader.

  • "Elm"... when I hear the word "Elm", I think of Ernest Saves Christmas when Chuck and Bobby are waiting for the Reindeer to be picked up by the "Helper Elms".

  • @travisgrindal Ha Ha ! I remember that movie. Thanks for watching!

  • $40? 15 for scanner, bluetooth? app was ?? is there other apps that do same thing, or has world jumped on torque and proclaimed them king?

  • @uawsux App is around $5 US the scanner is around $16 plus shipping. as for Torque being king I have no clue.

  • so with this can you connect your iphone to it?? wait can you use it to talk on the phone too??

  • @aznboi0ff The ELM 327 is just a bluetooth device that sends the signal to your phone the App " Torque" translates the information to be shown on your phone. The Elm just sends information related to the running of your engine.

  • @kerobinsonii hi!

Does the ELM 327 allow me to see boost (for a turbocharged car) via a torque app???

    thnks!

  • @xronisxronis Yes via the MAP sensor. ( Manifold Absolute Pressure ) Thanks for watching.

  • @kerobinsonii THNKS for answering!

  • so with this can you connect your iphone to it??

  • I just bought one of these, when I purchased the item didn't know you needed to have a phone to connect to it, I don't have a newer phone that would support this, is there anyway you can somehow use it with your laptop? even though it's bluetooth?

  • @gmjunky87 I believe so I would try support.microsoft. com/kb/883259

  • @kerobinsonii ok thanks!

  • quick question. i have the wired version of this thing. whenever i plug it into the car (02 camaro), a red light comes on solid. turning the ignition to run does nothing, and connection it to a laptop doesnt seem to do much either. can somebody please help?

  • @pepene93 I am no expert so I will just give you my opinion. I would think that if you have it in car while it is running and connected to the computer, and no other lights are flashing besides the red power light that the adapter it's self is the problem. Seeing that they are cheap Chinese junk it would be very easy to get a defective one. I hope you get it all worked out and thank you for watching my video.

  • Hello Can you send for me the content of desk i have demage desk

  • @ManTofek Sorry but I do not have the disk. I use the app on my Andriod phone.

  • hello my friend

i have the same adapter but i had damaged cd

can you send me the cd contends by mail?

    thanks a lot

  • @melidron666 Sorry but I do not have the disk, I use the app on my Andriod phone.

  • A question: it starts to blink as soon as you plug it?Or it just blinks after being detect by the phone?

    I'm lost...

    Thanks

  • @jasuscaredo The red light closet to the OBD port flashes when plugged in. The rest of the light start flashing when the device is connected to the phone. I hope this helps you. Thanks for watching!

  • Thanks you were correct about the device being defective I checked my car it is OBD II compatible I used my laptop to connect to my car and it worked

  • I bought a similar one but doesn't work on my 2001 Nissan altima the red led comes on but doesn't flash the way yours does what what is the make and model of your vehicle and what is the pinout on the data link connector

  • @augustemableton My truck is a 1999 GMC Sierra. I have used the ELM 327 on a 2004 Trailblazer, an 2003 Focus, a 2006 Silerado and a 2002 535i. The pin is the standard 16 pin that is mandated by the EPA. Just make sure your vehicle was intended to be sold in the USA. Other than that I would suspect you got a ban reader. Hope you get it all sorted out. Good luck !
