The 'Violins always had a tremendous pop sensibility. This takes me back to regular gigs at the Dovecot Arts Centre in Stockton on Tees in the mid-eighties watching the Jack Rubies, Jamie Wednesday, The Waltones, Weather Prophets, Mighty Lemon Drops, June Brides, Shop Assistants, Felt, The Bodines and Edwyn Collins.
I remember buying this record on a whim from Probe records in 85. Loved them ever since - great band. The Candleman is probably my favourite 1000 violins track.
Yeah loved this band. Thanks for posting this.
Does anyone remember a song called Thanks For Nothing? Not sure now if it was a B side. Would love to hear it again
