  • hahaha..the door was like "Crap, another day of work. I hate my life".

  • How do you get anywhere on time? LOL!

  • That's why I didn't catch the train during peak hour while pregnant. My stomach would have been squashed.

  • someone's knee is pushing against my leg...

    oh wait! its a ____

  • this is just like london

  • omg, that's me in the video!!

  • Shittttt.... I'm going to Japan this summer, the place I'm staying is pretty much right on the Yamanote...

  • When I was there and it was busy like that I just waited 2 minutes for the next train which was crowded still, but not as much. And if you're at the front of the queue you can get on easily.

  • because thay would late for work or school

  • why dont they wait for the next train?

  • thats what i want to know.

  • The next one will be just as crowded.

  • @bbukfan so those people get up really close so they can beat the others :P

  • yes, the next train will arrive in a few minutes or less.

but the train will be crowded as much as this train.

  • but......he is the first in the queue for the next train, overall it is just a few minutes delay....

  • next train in whichever line will come in about 30-45 seconds, not minutes

  • @funfun168 The next train is just as crowded.

  • what would happen if someone farted?

  • everyone would die.

  • hahahahaha... best comment here.

  • And then, as soon as the train starts moving, the chikans spring into action.

  • It only happens in Rush traffic, otherwise its pretty calm

  • That's incredible. The hell of commuting in Japan!

  • it happens here too, in Sydney Australia

  • Not quite to the same extent though! The Yamanote line carries almost as many people in a year as Sydney's Cityrail does in a year!

I've been on the London Underground in rush hour and even that doesn't compare to the Tokyo rail network. Don't forget that 36 million journeys a day occur on trains in Tokyo!

  • do you perhaps mean "The Yamanote line carries almost as many people in a day as Sydney's Cityrail does in a year!"

  • No. I meant that the annual passenger volumes for the entire Cityrail network in Sydney is equal to that of the Yamanote line - I just phrased it terribly. My apologies.
