@ALB3RT1214 It actually did get rereleased on Virtual Console for the Wii. The game was revised about two or three times back when it was still on the Genesis. Batman got replaced by a bat monster that's been noted by some as probably being a monster from a Japanese Manga or something and Godzilla got replaced by a living dragon skeleton with organs showing. Spiderman was made to look more like spiderman because Sega had the copyright at the time. In the VC release Spiderman is completely pink.

@glitchhunter09 Though he's not pink because the ROM was revised for the Virtual Console release. The ROM was patched to make him Pink. Most of the alterations on the Wii's Virtual Console from their original releases are done with external patches rather than editing the ROMs themselves. If you were to remove the patch from the Wii version of Revenge Of Shinobi, you'd get the final revision and Spiderman would be the colors he was then and the Spiderman Copyright notice would appear on screen.

Wow! Sega genesis was working so hard that the sprite started flickering because the programmers pushed it to the very limits! The sprite limit is 32x32 but it is obvious that it went higher then the specs which produced the flickering effects. Never the less it was an incredible programming feat!

lets just both enjoy the nostalgia joys and frustration of "revenge of shinobi" speaking of which, there was a level towards the end where you had to jump between platforms and floating life boats, that level always had me tense because i would miss-time some of my jumps and land in the water or get hit by an enemy in mid air and fall to my death, to me it was one of the hardest levels in the game :(

Looking at that battle ive actually noticed that the Skeleton form in the UK version is a lot harder.

For starters ive noticed that the Skeleton version does more damage and has a longer tail and it is more intelligent.

The reason you see a skeleton is because of copyright reasons. In the game Revenge of Shinobi you were able to fight Spider-Man, Batman, Godzilla (shown in the video), and the Hulk. In later versions of the game they changed Batman to bat creature and changed Godzilla to a skeleton and then just changed the Hulk to a white guy instead of being green. But Spider-Man remained in the game because whoever made the Revenge of Shinobi game bought the rights to Spider-Man.

Haha I beat this boss so easily. All you have to do is when he gets all the way to the edge of the screen, jump to the bottom and he'll swing his tail at you, while hes doing this, jump back up and nail him in the back of the head. Keep repeating this and boom! Victory! Nice to see vids of the old shinobi game up on youtube. I was playing just yesterday ^_^
