Yo, can someone please explain to me why we have people on here saying that the ancient Scythians were non-Iranian pastoralists? Why are they saying that they weren't Iranian? Every book I have ever read regarding these people, every academic journal that I have referred to says that the Scythians were Iranian speaking peoples of the Indo European peoples (also referred to as the Aryan languages speakers). A better choice would have been to group these languages under the name (labeling) like Irano-afghan languages to avoid any confusion with the country of iran.

I think it is a very important question because one of the ancient hungarian tribes was the KÜRT-GYARMAT. I think they are kurds.

As I can recall there is a differce between Hungarian and Magyar. Hungar is the latinized for of onogur. Wile Magyar is an originall name and mosetly unknown to the west. Some russian scollars think that the Magyar were a sarmatian clan who formed a confedration with the Asiatic huns. and as we know the hun were comprized of minimum two type of people. one was short dark and had o-type legs. The other one was tall and fair skeend.
